the reason i posted this was because i described a song as a "rock anthem" to someone and they didnt know what i meant, and then i actually had a hard time defingint it myself. i could describe what i think it means, but couldnt put an actual definition to it.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I've always thought of rock anthems as songs that celebrated the rock lifestyle. I Love Rock N Roll, We're Not Gonna Take It, just about every AC/DC song. Stuff like that.
