So, let's see...Anthony has his girlfriend on the show, and they ditch the XM show.
Obviously, anyone who complains about the direction of this show is just a message board hater.

Not sure that has anything to do with Jill. They said on Friday they were taking a train back to NY after the FM show

They have a train to catch back to NY in Boston.
That and it takes a long time for Keith the Cop to carry 100+ lbs of Jill's overnight baggage to the train.

That is a pretty good point. They might have only been able to arrange for the CBS timeslot.

That is a good point. I take back that wish for a NY bound train derailment. I hope it's not too late.

That is Jim Florentine. He is a really good friend, and former roommate, of Jim Norton.
He is also a friend of the show who they have had to "break ties with" because he got a regular gig with Howard. There isn't a problem with the friendship, just the "legal" stuff of him working for Sirius (same with Breuer).

It was so telling when he did unmasked and didn't even attempt to be funny, just established his "I'm not funny" gimmick at the onset to deflect the pressure and went on to talk politics. It was interesting but I failed to understand where the funny came from. Even Margaret Cho got some laughs when she took a break from namedropping.

Yeah, Anthony does way too much dodging to make it fun. A few "I can't talk about that" moments are fun if you get a real "payoff" of some kind of funny/personal discussion. This has just become boring.
And wait until Jill actually shows up on air later in the replay. It's just great.

i actually bought his dvd and its not that funny...but i do enjoy him on the radio...the only thing that bothers me is that it seems like hes always trying to go "too far" and be over the top with the crude humor...kinda like jimmys type of humor, but for some reason it works for jim
edit: lucky louie was a great show though

ricky gervais obviously does if he put him in his new movie.
for me, some of his stuff is really funny. my favorite story he tells is how he thought when you made a baby one of your balls shot out your pee hole. crying and screaming and blood.
i also like his bit on the presidential tour of the white house that all new presidents get.
he is funny. i think that the past couple years he has been depressed which has effected his appearances on o&a.

I don't think that show ever quite figured out the tone it wanted to take. I think sometimes it flinched away from being as dark as it should have been. All sitcoms do need a period to figure this out (I mean, look at the first season or two of Seinfeld), so maybe of just needed time.

Agreed. I just hate that "I'm going to expose your hypocrisy, sir!" attitude... he's like the don't-taze-me-bro guy. I would have liked to hear a traffic agent call in some real cops who go to arrest him for obstructing governmental authority, then he resists arrest, and they beat his ass.
