For some reason i thought i was in college again this past weekend

I drank friday night, saturday night, sunday night, and a little monday afternoon at a picnic...

i felt fine monday night and yesterday...but i am dyin today...its like withdraw-like symptoms (i watch that show "intervention")

so my question is...Is it possible to go through withdraw if i'm not an alcoholic?

You can get withdrawal symptoms from coffee, so I would guess alcohol too. The trick is not to stop.

Reasons for hangovers
1) Brain Damage
2) Withdrawl
3) Low Electolytes

As a veteran alcoholic the best thing you can do is have a large gatorade with a multivitamin, followed by a beer and shot. After that superhydrate and take a nap, you will wake up feeling fine. Of course everyone's body chemistry is a little different. But after 18 years of alcoholism, this system has worked for me for a long time.

The exact same thing happened to me. I did a little more smoking than usual also. Felt ok yesterday. Not great, but ok. And this morning I felt like shit, I'm having sharp aches in all my muscles and kinda nauseous. Weird.

What do you all think about taking aspirin before going to bed when you have been drinking? I know it's good to drink tons of water but I hear mixed things about aspirin. My brother-in-law who is a big beer drinker swears that you shouldn't take aspirin before going to bed after drinking because it thins your blood.

Binge drinking stops the body from prossesing nutrients because the liver is strained.Your nutrient deprived.
Eat some healthy food and get some sleep. You will feel better in the morning.:drunk:

Aspirin does thin your blood, but I have taken it many times myself. I wouldn't go nuts with the amount you take (and avoid cutting yourself) but I have never been hurt by it. Have I mentioned I am not a Doctor?

However, you should COMPLETELY AVOID Tylenol (acetaminophen) when drinking because it can damage your liver. In some extreme cases (and this is a rare reaction) it will virtually dissolve your liver. Otherwise, you will definitely do damage to your liver especially if you use Tylenol with alcohol repeatedly and over time.

Two big glasses of water and two aspirin always helps me feel better in the morning.

Never had a problem with it.

It happens to me every now and then too, I don't know if it's withdrawal. I'll drink a little all week, like 4-5 beers an night. Come sunday I am just dead. I think it's just a slow dehydration and poor nutrition. Drink a crapload of gatorade or vitamin water. Eat well. Exercise.

any hangover is withdrawl. doesn't make you an alcoholic or a bad person, but if they effect your ability to function is society it might mean trouble.

it also depends on the type of alcohol you consume. clear liquer and brown liquer have different after effects. beer vs wine vs champagne. all different. i usually pound water before i pass out. i pound more water when i wake up and piss as much as i can. i try to avoid aspirin and other over the counter stuff. beer is easiest on my system over all. brown liquer is worst on me followed closely by champagne.

Does mixing beer, wine, and hard alcohol make the hangover worse? I hear that this is a myth. A drunken friend told me he read that it isn't the mixing but the drinking too much. For example, if you decide to do shots of tequila at 2AM after drinking beer all day, the problem isn't mixing beer and hard alcohol but simply drinking too much. If you mix alcohol but drink in moderation, it won't make your hangover any worse than if you stuck to beer.

Most of the time I talk about drinking is when I am drunk and the conversations aren't that intelligent. It ends up being, "dude, I hear....""I read somewhere...". so, it's great to get some solid info.

Drinking in excess or habitually will screw up tour body's ability to achieve REM 4 sleep. That coupled with dehydration and electrolyte imbalance is what can make you feel "plain tuckered out" during a two day hangover. THE #1 go to, next day food: Chinese food and warm tea with ice water. Dont worry if you go out for chinese the waiter will give you all the ice water you can handle. This is good.

That's what happens when you pass out upside down in a corner with your face to the floor.
