It would be called a Friendly if its soccer, not an exhibition

Yeah just a friendly. A chance for each team to work on things before their upcoming World Cup 2010 qualifying campaigns.

Donovan being injured killed the US from the start. He is there best player. I knew the US wasnt going to win. Down 2-0 right now with about 20mins to go. But it coulda been worse. Considering the english team has a star at each position.

I guess there's not too much interest in this game in the US?

I don't think Wembley was a sell out so not a game everyone is too bothered about. £50 is a lot to ask right at the end of the soccer season with people shelling out for next seasons season tickets and what not for their prospective clubs.

I would have thought ESPN would at least put this on ESPN2, not ESPN Classic. Woulda been nice to see it in HD. I mean u got the US team, u got Beckham etc. Hell, its a great matchup on paper. Next weeks game vs Spain is on ESPN 2. And to me, Spain is a step down from England in terms of match up an watch-a-bility. This country can accept soccer. Look at the World Cup in 06. The rating were huge on ESPN. So, there def is an audience. But They gotta do a better job of broadcasting. They also need to advertise the shit out of it. Why cant these international games be on ESPN or ABC? Why must they be on the secondary channels?

hard to have a lot of interest when it's a midday game on a wednesday. it's also tough to take anything out of a friendly since either or both sides can say they didn't care or were just trying to work stuff out. like when the us had that streak going against mexico, there was always some excuse as to why the mexican defeat meant nothing.
