Although I like the inclusion of the "Moldavian Massacre", a couple of changes:

1) I think the Finales of 24 Day 3 (Virus) and Day 4 (Dead Jack) are much, much better than the finale of Day 1.

2) Best of Both Worlds Part I. (Star Trek TNG)

3) Lay Down Your Burdens Part II. (Battlestar Galactica)

I'm going to have to agree with the Globe. Jack's wife getting killed was so unexpected. It's that development that makes the finale one of the most memorable ever, and thus better than the other two.

No doubt a good one, but I'm going to have to pick Crossroads Part II, Season 3 finale.

The whole revelation of the four Cylons with All Along The Watchtower, Starbuck's return and that glimpse of the galaxy and Earth made it the best season finale of any show ever.

I have good hopes for tomorrow's Lost as well...

I really regret missing the CSI LV finale; my wife loved it and I missed it. :wallbash:

The NCIS finale was a little disappointing this year, it was good up to the end when the new director broke up the team... for some reason I get the feeling it's a series finale.

I don't really have any singular season finale that sticks out as great, although the Seinfeld series finale blew.

Lost Season 3: "Through the Looking Glass"

The whole 2 hours is fan-fucking-tastic. The show is great over all and each of the season's finales have been excellent. Hopefully the 4th will be as well.

2) Best of Both Worlds Part I. (Star Trek TNG)

This is one of my absolute favorites - good call.

I remember sitting on the couch, watching intently, hearing Riker say "Mr. Worf - Fire," the screen going black, 'To Be Continued' popping up on the screen, then yelling at the TV: "You a--holes!!! You can't end the g*ddamn episode THERE!!! You sons of bitches!!!"

i enjoyed the last punky brewster when punky and her toothy black friend cherry made love in the tree house while grampa slowly rubbed one out while playing old jazz albums on his Victrola.

but honestly i think this all happened in my head.

I forgot how good the early 24 season finales were. I may have to go back and rewatch the first few seasons. Lost is another show that does this exceptionally well.

However, my favorite season finale recently was the end of Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 6 (The Bat Mitzvah) with Larry and the Blacks. That episode had me on the floor.

I loved the finale of season two of The Wire, "Port in a Storm". The ending montage with "I Feel Alright" by Steve Earle as Nick Sobotka reflects on what happened was terrific. Frank Sobotka washes up on shore, The Greek gets away, McNulty and Greggs catch Prop Joe and Stringer Bell meeting.

None of this cliffhanger nonsense, no shocking twists, no gimmicks. Just great story telling.
