I don't think that noting a listlessness and lack of interest in the show on the part of its host is just message board whining now. Do they want to be there or not?

First they take an unannounced five-day weekend. Then, when questioned, they make up some stupid faggot bullshit, then basically tell us to go fuck ourselves, and stop listening if we don't like it. Now, after that one day back, they mysteriously don't show up again. Lemme guess, tomorrow they'll tell us to go fuck ourselves again. Can't say they did "half a show" this time.
Fuck these goddamn assholes. At least a quick, "no live show tomorrow" would be reasonable for the paying fans.

i think its messageboard whining. enjoy the new shows you get. there are usually 5 of them a week. if you don't like it, then don't listen. if they miss a show, whats it about 50¢ of what you pay a month to listen.
replays suck, but i'm not going to complain about them not working. if they are allowed to get the time off, good for them. i wish my job was like that.

People do take this too seriously. I don't fault them for taking off early on a Holiday weekend. And if they are legitimately sick today, so be it. Stuff happens.
If you added up all the vacation that O&A takes, it's still less than Howard, and it's still less than Mike and the Mad Dog who get away with it by having one host in while the other takes vacation.

Ding ding ding! Hello, exactly! I don't begrudge them for taking time off, of course we all wish our jobs were so liberal (like somebody else said above), but at least stop leaving us hanging. We love O&A, that's why we listen... at least throw us a bone so we don't sit like excited schoolgirls by the radio waiting for a show that never comes. Just say, "hey fuckos, we're taking six of the next seven days off!"

I agree. Pretty much no one was bitching Friday morning (compared to Thurs.) because they gave the heads up that they would be gone and actually played a good worst-of that we haven't had to hear 1000 times. Normally I turn the channel when a replay comes on but Friday's was really good. Plus, if they didn't sneak out Thursday, today wouldn't seem like such a kick in the nuts.

I seem to remember that back at NEW you would never know if they were going to be live or not. Suspensions, contract negotiations it was always up in the air. As long as it isn't them airing something from last week i'm fine with them taking a day or 3 off once in awhile. I would if I could.

There's the kicker. Very astute. The gay-ass "we did half a show because we did the FM part" is so convoluted and bullshitty, and they knew it. You could hear the hesitance in their voices as that diarrhea spewed from their mouth-holes. Thursday was a day off. It was a five day weekend. Then one day back, and another "illness."
Opie said last Thursday that they were taking Friday off cause it's his birthday.
Yeah, but the Thursday sneak-out was the kick in the balls. See above.

That's the only thing that bugged me about the day off. I listen to the K-Rock side at work from 6-9 while my MyFi records the XM at home for me. We just heard the Jill/Ant stuff last week (although I loved hearing Colin)! Who set up the Worst-Of... Earl?
As for the day off... Stern takes 17 weeks a year (including this week and next). I don't begrudge the guys a day off here and there. Ron And Fez go way beyond the call of duty when they have a scheduled day off because they take three hours after a live show to give us a fresh recorded show. I don't know of any other show that cares for the fans enough to do that as often as they do.

Ron & Fez do give a lot to the fans, and so to do O&A. I liked Danny's laugh and I giggle like a school girl when I hear ESD laughter echo thru his head.In my real life I'm nothing like these guys I listen to for hours.I consider the 2 shows like a bachelor's club.I don't go to movies like they do or watch tv.It's easier to just listen to the 2 shows give little spurts of tv or movies.I'm 50 so my tastes have changed.:surrender::help:

What I really love about O&A Worst-ofs is all the "fans" that bitch about the show because they're not on and bitch about the hosts because they feel they don't care about them, but at the same time they ask if everything is alright when Ron and Fez aren't on. Just last week they could've thrown on a worst-of with the Anthony/Jill thing, but Opie and Jimmy went on there and did the show, but still people bitch about how they don't care about the fans or the show. Where is the difference between Ron and Fez being off because Fez has "bronchitis" and O&A being off because Opie may or may not have food poisoning?

Well, I don't really care either way that much, but I would assume its because O&A make such a huge deal about how they're so honest and different from all other radio hosts and they used to constantly make fun of Howard for taking lots of days off.
The Thursday issue could have been easily avoided if they just said, "Hey, sorry XM people but we're taking the rest of the day off," instead of the just leaving like they've done quite a few times for the XM people.

Where is the difference between Ron and Fez being off because Fez has "bronchitis" and O&A being off because Opie may or may not have food poisoning?
Ron and Fez go out of their way to 1) only leave when necessary, 2) warn you when they won't be there, if at all possible, 3) record a new show to play, 4) and if an emergency arises they come back ASAP and at least mention why they didn't show. Just a little consideration would come so easily to them, and would speak volumes to the fans.
The Thursday issue could have been easily avoided if they just said, "Hey, sorry XM people but we're taking the rest of the day off," instead of the just leaving like they've done quite a few times for the XM people.
Exactly. That's all it would take to take care of the people who protested and smashed radios to save your career.

But he has stopped being a "normal guy." Anthony is now all about fast cars, fat cash, hot chicks, and living life completely on his terms. He is in a place we all want to be, but he has gotten there by sacrificing his connection to the average guy.
Anthony has become very similar to what they have ragged on Howard for becoming.

It's funny, but only mildly. Just my opinion. I think they have a tendency to hammer bits into the ground, and this is one of them. It's the same sex jokes with Patti and the same coaxing her to touch Jimmy's dick, the same questions about how long it'd take her to have sex with someone she's dating. Yeah, I'm not saying one show is good and the other isn't, it's not about comparing them at all, even though the people on RFnet who are bigger OnA fans try to bring everything back to that. I love OnA, I listen every day, I was simply stating my opinion.
