I moved to Jersey in August of 2007. canceled my insurance / Registration / got new ones in NJ. I didn't turn in my license plates until a few months ago.......after I got a few notices from the Commonwealth letting me know that I owe excise tax for 2008. A grand total of $36.56. Since I didn't pay something I didn't owe, Mass is insisting I pay the warrant and demand fee of $10.42 ....mainly because I never turned in my plates...because the dumb slit that I spoke to from my former insurance company in Mass that told me "the plate's are all set..don't worry about it."
Massachusetts is saying that if I don't pony up the warrant, I won't be able to do business with the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. OH NOEZ!
They also claim that it will affect my future dealings with the New Jersey RMV.
Can they fuck with my NJ registration on fees for something I never should have owed?
It's small-change bullshit, but I believe in the principle of the whole thing.
I think that in this day of new fangled computer databases and such, it is a pretty good bet that failure to pay might follow you around and cause troubles down the road.
Pay the money if you an afford it. The bill will only go up if you don't.
And yeah, Massachusetts does suck balls.

Pay the $10.00..Consider it an exit fee..Now you have the god forsaken state out of your life for good..
Now, you go to work on your next problem, gettin' the fuck out of Jersey..

Yes. I had a "problem" with the NJ MVS because I had a CDL in Ohio that didn't get turned in by the Kansas DMV when I got it changed to a Kansas CDL. A few months after I moved back to New Jersey, I got a notice from the NJ MVS (it was still the DMV when I moved back) that my NJ CDL was being revoked because I lied on my application where it says "Do you have a license in any other state" Of course I said no, but Ohio still had my CDL as being current. I had to drive to Deptford to get it fixed.

These are the two sitting Senators. When Ted Kennedy passes on and is inevitably replaced, it will be a sad day when the people of Massachusetts can say that John Kerry is their most seasoned and respected Senator.

Didn't you guys have the president's brother as your Governor?
Yes, I'm disappointed that we have a heavily medaled, dignified war veteran as one of our Senators. For shame.

That's the funniest thing I have seen in a while. You have encapsulated what it means to be a 'Masshole.' If John Kerry can be confused as dignified; its a dark day for us all.

I agree, pay the money. It's not going to go away, it will follow you for years and it will only cost more in the future with additional late fees and penalties.

Charlie Crist is the president's brother? I would have though they would have the same last name if they were related.

Same place as me -- New Haven, CT. There used to be a sign on I-91 but I think it kept getting defaced.
