And, in the grand scheme of things, it really does happen just that quickly.
A hundred years from now, we will all be food for worms. We're born, we die, with way too little time in between.
In the face of such a harsh reality, and in light of recent events, it's easy to question life's meaning. I think the answer is just to live it. Seriously, live your life, every fucking day of it.
Be good to yourself. And to others. Have morals & convictions, but temper them with compassion and understanding. Admit when you're wrong. Stand up for what's right. Help those in need. Give love freely... and thank God when it's been given to you. Make sure your significant others know just how significant they are; tell them every day, show them every night. Wake up early, just to catch a sunrise. Kiss for hours, make love for days. Always have a candle burning. Indulge in your favorite foods. Drive with the windows down and the radio up. Never be afraid of looking stupid. Don't leave things unsaid. Be slow in anger, quick in forgiveness. Smile, and often. Laugh, a lot. Try new things. Treasure old friends.
Life is short, live it accordingly!
Which reminds me of the poet, Ferris Bueller, who once was heard to muse... "life moves pretty fast, if you're not careful you could miss it."
Not to sound too corny, although I guess it's a little late for that, but here's hoping none of you miss it!!
