Can anybody help me? We bought a new satellite receiver and it has a PVR. There is a specific tv show that I know one of my co-workers would love but she has digital cable and doesn't get the channel this show is on. Is there some way to transfer the show to the computer, or even burn it to a disc for her?
I have faith in the RF.net geek squad. I know you will not let me down.

I don't know if you can do it with a standard TV setup or not. I have a TV tuner card in my comp. They can be pretty cheap, if you get one online. Other than that, I hope someone can give you a better answer.

Another (although a little shadier) alternative might be to download the program from the internet. Most programs are available via bit torrent now.

After downloading it, burning it to a dvd is simple.

What program is it ?

if you had a particular card for your computer, you could output the cable box to that and capture the incoming video. i have done this a few times it is pretty easy

Well, I doubt it's similar, because with Tivo, they give you the TivoToGo software, but the only way I know of to transfer the file from the DVR to a computer is using an Ethernet Crossover Cable.

The problem is, assuming your DVR has the ethernet jack and you plugged the crossover cable into both parts, you'd still need to find some software compatible for it.

As far as I know, the Tivo software is the only one I've really seen, but to be fair, I haven't really looked in to it.

Thanks for the responses. I forgot I posted this thread until I was driving home today.
Rich, the show is Little Britain. There is a link to some of the sketches on the BBC website, but they are not full sketches or even shows for that matter, but I guess it is the best I can do for now.
BTW this show is friggin' hilarious.

First download bitTorrent. I then use mininova.org to search. Once downloaded simply burn to disc. I checked mininova.org and there are results when I searched for Little Britain. Good luck!
