I love these shows for so many reasons.

I love that they do it for pride and they're SO into it. Like, it really means something to accomplish the task and they aren't competing for some cheesey prize.

Also, my wife is japanese and she loves that the dialogue isn't dubbed over and there are subtitles. It's funny to hear the differencs between what's really being said and what they say in the captions.

Japanese television is superior to American television. It has more of a "hey, let's see what happens if we do this" feeling to it, which is exciting.
