If anyone is interested in helping to bring the sport to NYC check out our website at Boroughboysnyc.com. The Borough Boys are a group of supporters who want to see a New York City team in Major League Soccer. The idea did not come out of no where, as there have been rumors that the Wilpon family, owners of the New York Mets, are interested in building a Soccer Specific Stadium in the Queens area. I think you got to wait till the new Red Bull stadium is built and then when you fill that to capacity you go for another team.

We have no beef with RB and wish them well. Once they get their new stadium they will be fine. The PATH train will help them grab even more fans but it doesn't change the fact that a team in the boroughs would be amazing and the rivalry would be the best in the league and would help the sport take off in NY. Garber and the league have wanted a second team in NY since the beginning of the league.

The NE is getting too crowded with teams in MLS. I seriously doubt NYC will get a team.
MLS needs some exposure in the south. Tampa and Miami were dumped too soon, at least one needs to come back.

Barcelona, which just made partnership with MLS, is rumored to own the second NY team. I dunno how the name would be but it would be related to Barcelona. maybe Barcelona NY FC? thats what i head on www.mls-rumors.net

i've been waiting for a ny team since 2001-2002 or so. i don't think it will ever happen, but the natural rivalry would def'ly help rather than hurt.
