I am fond of referring to the Houston Astros as the Assholes.
Feel free to call my beloved Red Wings "The Wings" "World's Greatest Hockey Team" "Kings Of Hockeytown" or any such label.
And I love to call the Mets the Mutts.

I like when people call them the 'Stros, cause it reminds me of beer.

You missed "Gang Green," "Big Blue," "America's Team" (since fucking when were the goddamned Dallas Cowboys "America's Team" and who fucking decided it without asking the rest of the Americas ... I am sure the Canadians care about as much as I do...) ... ugh.
Oh, and ANYTHING that comes out of John Sterling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Sterling_(sportscaster))'s mouth during a Yankee game. (Like "the Giambino," "it's an A-bomb ... from A-Rod," "the Melk-man always delivers," "it's Robbie Cano, don'cha know?" .... die, Sterling, die. And take Suzyn Waldman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzyn_Waldman) with you.)

Did Dave mention D-Backs by name? Because it's actually on their uniform and used in their official team logos. It was a shortened progression of the Diamondback name, similar how to people called the Devil Rays the D-Rays.
I don't have an issue so much with some of the Yankees nicknames, I DO get upset when Sterling forces the issue on his radio broadcasts.

His rant seemed to be entirely directed at the Orioles for some reason. I guess he doesn't like the Birds.
Funny rant coming from someone with muliple nicknames. Dave is a nickname, ESD is another nickname. Self-loathing, I say.
