name a band or artist that is good for anytime in social situaltions
on the air they let U2 get a pass and I don't know why

I did not hear the show so I hope I'm not getting the point of this thread wrong:
On the O&A show I think Jimmy or Opie has mentioned Bob Marley as being something that seemed to cross social lines, so you would hear it at a party no matter what/how color/sex/nerdy/jock/etc people were.
And is that DLR Van Halen or Van Hagar?

I didn't really get the Van Morrison thing. If you're talking about a whole catalog of music, Van Morrison has like 70 albums and a lot of them are very Jesusy.

I disagree with every band brought up in this thread. I can't come up with a good one though.
I have to agree, there is no one kind of music I can think of that I would want to listen to in ANY situation.

I submit The Band. I agree with The Stones and The Who, and not much else.
I disagree with the Beatles, it's basically only certain situations.
