If you have pets, are you one of those people who is lucky enough to have a smart animal (or at least who believes yours is), or are you constantly marveling at how stupid animals are?

I was thinking of this because I made a stuffed toy elephant this weekend and when my boyfriend and I were looking at this thing, the dog got very upset and jealous that another "animal" was getting attention that she wasn't. Normally she sits on the couch with my boyfriend at night when we watch TV or whatever, and she simply could not bear it that for a few minutes, this toy elephant was there with him instead of her. He gave me the elephant, and since I found her behavior totally hilarious, I began petting it and saying how it was good and I would give it a treat, and the dog was completely beside herself.

Like, gawd, the world would end if this elephant ate any of her Pupperoni.

This is a runty miniature schnauzer mix who is 9 pounds at her heaviest. Realistically, she can do nothing about the elephant's intrusion into her life. But she was doing everything she could to let us know that she would not accept any ridiculous elephant shenanigans.

Check out how TOTALLY REALISTIC AND THREATENING this elephant is:

We had a Newfoundland that I swear had downs..We had been taking him out to do his business through a door off our kitchen..we would say..wanna go out? and he woul fun into the mudroom right to the door. We had an addition put on and the Mudroom/door became a wall with a Bay window..goddam if he didn't run smack into the wall every time we asked him if he wanted to go out.

He just wanted the pepperoni....at any cost.
