Moving Companies in NYC

We're likely going to hire movers for a move within Manhattan. Does anyone have any testimonials or complaints about specific companies? Has anyone ever used Flat Rate Movers? Does anyone know the average you can expect to spend moving the furniture and boxes from an average 2 bedroom apartment in NYC? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Padded Wagon worked well for us on at least two occasions (one of those occasions being a move to Hartford). I can't remember what they cost when we moved from 89th and 3rd to the Sutton Place area, but I don't think it was more than $3K.
