I think I get hints. Sometimes I probably look for hints too much. I decided I wasn't going to call my wife anymore after our first date, because I thought I picked up that she wasn't interested. If a mutual friend hadn't told me otherwise, I likely wouldn't be married to her today.

I am an observant person and pick up on lots of detail in conversation, in my travels, in life and notice things a lot of people don't see... I just have to trust that I am picking up on hints in conversation and am on the same page as someone. I also feel like I'm a good judge of personality and character, which helps as well.
Being in sales you have to know how to read someone and know when they're done with you, so you don't step into the annoying-person-that-won't-go-away-zone.
