Lardy was our family goldfish.
It died today from an unknown cause. Was given the name Lardy from my son who was 4 at the time. Lardy is survived by no fish. It was a single fish for all of its life. It entered its home at a small 1" long. It died at 9" weighing in at an impressive .3lb.
Lardy will be missed.

What shall we do to honor this fine fish?

could have been age, or contaniments in the water. goldfish have a tendency to dirty the water faster than other fish (technically chlorine).
do the right thing. bag into box into hole in back yard.
what we taketh from the earf, we should giveth back to the earf.

Am I the only person who finds it weird that he saved the fish in a ziploc bag?

Perhaps if you didn't keep it in the ziplock it would have survived longer.
Just sayin
