So, today tickets went on sale for a bunch of shows at the PNC Bank Arts Center. I got up an hour before they went on sale so as to try and get some the second they were being sold because frankly I wanted specific seats in specific sections. I actually went to the PNC last year, thinking they had to have the best seats possible since it's their own damn venue. Came to find out a week later online that Ticketmaster had better seats than I had already purchased so I vowed not to go there again this year and go directly to Ticketmaster.

Imagine my surprise when the best I could find on Ticketmaster were way in the back of the sections I wanted. Who the fuck has what I was looking for and how were the seats in the front rows already sold?!?!

Really frustrating knowing you can't even get the seats you want, no matter when or where you try to buy them.

I recently used stubhub, I had a good experience with them.

After being charged twice as much for tickets to a hockey game a couple of years back, I vowed to never use them again, but I looked on their site for the tix I wanted just out of curiosity. They have worse seats than Ticketmaster and get this, they are still charging twice as much as they are actually worth.

Long before shows go 'On Sale' to the general public.

-The PNC Arts Center has taken some of the good seats for their corporate pals. This doesnt include subscribers who owns their own seats.

-The artist playing the venue has taken some of the good seats for themselves.

-There has probably been a Fan Club pre-sale; they get earlier access.

-There is probably some Credit Card promotion pre-sale; they get earlier access to tickets.

In short, often, the best seats never go on sale to the general public, ever. Some venues are better then others. PNC is about the worst.

Between multiple 'Convenience' charges and this kind of access, some might see why others are concerned.

The thing that's most frustrating is the location I wanted to get tickets for. Sure, I could understand not being able to get tix for the front section (100's), or even the next one back where all the corporations have their seats (200's), but I wanted Loge (300 section) and still couldn't find anything closer than the 15th row and in the middle no less. I hate sitting in the middle of a crowd with a passion.

Just find it hard to believe that those who have "privilege" to get their tickets early would choose this section.
