View Full Version : What stresses you out?
Well for all of us Kooky kids in college, its that time of the year again, finals. But what, if anything, stresses the rest of you out. Vent it here!
I'll go first:
I have this speech i have to get done by 1130 on gun control(note what I'm doing instead of writing it) which I doubt I will seeing as i've barely started it and I already have writers block. Then I have my lab final with predissected fetal pigs that have pins sticking out of various parts, gross!*IF* im lucky enough to finish that early I'll be able to go to kinkos to make the required overheads for my speech. If not then I'm F-ed and might as well fail the speech class.
Ok I feel better havign gotten that all out.

Thanks Sheepy!
And is it just me or am I the only one who without fail gets a panick attack at somepoint during finals week?

i dont think i got too stressed out with finals. my college used to have the 11:00 scream where everyone on campus would open their windows and just let loose. it was pretty funny.
nowadays, what stresses me out is my ongoing financial problems, family problems, and things in the past sometimes

If I even tried to detail everything that is stressing me out lately, it would take up 3 pages. My life is in the shitter right now. Besides being sick, and work being nutso, I find myself dwelling on things that happened in my past (that never bothered me before). My major stresser is the dumb fucks at the mall that walk soooooo slow while I'm trying the shop. And my sore throat. I really really hate the sore throat.

1 Paying bills
2 Traffic.
The only one I have no control over is traffic. I make my Fiancee(?) do the bills.

As strange as it sounds I
don't feel stressed out.
Even though I have a paper
due today and didn't
finish/write most of it until
yesterday, I was never
stressed out. I still went to
see Ocean's 11, I still did
what I wanted to do. I have
a fnal and another essay de
next week and i'm not
stressing over it, I'm still
seeing Brazil wednesday
and whatever.The only thing
that bothers me is that my
laptop is broken and I need
to take it in to Comp USA
this week to get it fixed.
Maybe I just internalize it
(horde king?)
As far as the extent of my
paranoia... you have no
clue.

i used to stress, but then i realized that about a week later i couldn't even remember what i had been stressing about. so now i just work hard, work fast, but try not to stress.
the only thing that i still stress over is when i forget to put on deodorant. then i start sweating, which makes the lack of deodorant worse, which gets me more stressed, which makes me sweat more, which makes me stress more. it is a vicious cycle

I stress out over nonsense. Meanwhile, I never stress over things people normally stress about. Know what I mean? Anyway, I stress over minor things like what to wear, my hair, and other crap that isn't important. I know....I'm boring.

Gwen, I am totally with you girl, its finals time at my college too. In 7 days I will have to complete 3 research papers, one take home final exam, and two regular exams. So far I have finished the take home, and almost 2 research papers. My only motivation to not crawl under a rock and die is that on saturday I will be able to drive home, see my lovely girlfriend, and hop a train to the city to hang out with all of you.
IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

Mostly my job. My job sucks, but I don't know what else I would like to do. I can't say debt, because I got myself there. I wish I had more (or even some) money saved.
I am also stressed about my social phobia. It drives me nuts that I am not able to carry on conversations freely.

Things that stress me to the max are mostly financial. Boy even back when I was in med school and I used to stress out badly about tests and sorts, I would do anything now to just have tests to stress out about. Life was simple then, I lived at home..lol Work is very stressful nowadays too, it's the pressure of having one's life in the palm of your hand. Can't hack it. That's when I sit back and come here, you guys are my stress relievers.

With me, it's worry about the future that stresses me out more than anything. I'm kind of at a point in my life where I think I should "start over," just because of how badly everything's been going lately. All starting with a breakup 3 months ago, that I'm having a lot of trouble getting over.
Actually it's getting bad, and I haven't been able to sleep in 2 days...hopefully I'll be able to pass out tonight, if not, I guess I can always booze myself to sleep....

My job used to stress me
out. I started to burn out. I
quit becuse of a few
reasons...but stress had
alot to do with it.
Now thankfuly, my job's no
longer a source of stress.
and that's an important
thing.

speaking. i stutter.
tazz - I am also stressed about my social phobia. It drives me nuts that I am not able to carry on conversations freely.
i know how you feel. i too have a social phobia. whether it stems from my stuttering or my stuttering stems from my phobia is to be determined.
i get stressed out about talking anyone. it stresses me to anwser the phone, call for take out, get movie tickets, meet people, speak up in a classroom, talk to people at work...you name it. in comparison to this ever present on going stresser, all the other stressful things in my life (and there are a few) pale in comparison.
