With his victory tonight, Chris Jericho has become the 3rd ever Grand Slam champion in WWF history. In just 3 years he has achieved what HBK and HHH took years to do in the WWF. Congradulations Y2J, quite an amazing accomplishment.

Jericho was Euro Champ.
When Angle had the Euro and I.C. Title's Benoit beat him for the I.C. and Jericho for the Euro in a 2 fall triple threat match.
He was also Hardcore Champ.

Tom(my) Poo if you don't believe WWFallon and his vast wrestling knowledge then check the record books at www.wwftitlehistory.com.
Look under European Championship and number 19 is Chris Jericho who won it from Kurt Angle in Anaheim, CA 04.02.2000 at Wrestlemania.
Hope that puts the record straight, Tommy!

Here's yet another little tidbit of infromation on the 3rd Grand Slam Champion. Jericho was only the WCW tag titles away from being an Ultimate Grand Slam Champion (my own phrase, coined by me). This means being a Grand Slam Champ for WCW and WWF.

TheGameHHH is a fag.
He wrote,
"Jericho was only the WCW tag titles away from being an Ultimate Grand Slam Champion (my own phrase, coined by me). This means being a Grand Slam Champ for WCW and WWF."
he's a liar.. I gave him the information and I coined the phrase... THEGAMEHHH... you better own up to it or I'm going to start spraypainting your body with the word Diesel.

Jericho couldn't be the Ultimate Grand Slam Champion, he never was the US Champion.
Or did he win that belt earlier this year? I am almost certain he didn't.
As far back as I can remember...I've always wanted to be a gangster.

First off Diesel, you did NOT coin that phrase. The phrase you said to me was Absolute Grand Slam Champ. I deleted the word absolute and made it ultimate, so.....EAT ME.
Secondly, BigBlue, he didn't win the U.S. title, but he won the WCW TV title, and didn't that eventually get changed over to the U.S. title?
Diesel is gay. It doesn't burn cleaner.

Nope. They were always two different titles. The TV title was dropped a few years ago.

OK, but wasn't the U.S. title created after Jericho left WCW?

LordsofPain.net's Title's history shows it going back as far as 1990 and Lex Luger had it.

Y2J. Come on for the last time. he is a second tier
rassler. The only reason
he won.. Wasn't he the one that put HHH on the shelf.
I predicted this bad choice.
The Game will come back and claim whats his. WCW out of
biz but Lance Storm Booker
still looming around.. Odd
isn't it. WWF has gotten bad.
I say its time 2 play the Game-a. With The Crippler on his wing THE RABID WOLVERINE...........

The U.S. title dates back much further than 1990. Roddy Piper and greg Valentine were feuding over it back in 1979-1980. It is a very old title. Try this site:

The TV Title was never more important than the U.S. Title. That's like saying that the European Title is better than the Intercontinental Title. The U.S. Champion was always considered the #1 contender to the World Title by the announcers. The U.S. Title was the second most prestigous title in the NWA and WCW.

I remember when the Ultimate Warrior won both WWF Champ, and Intercontinental Champ...now those were the days. Too many titles out there, takes away from the fun of things...

Man I suck with this title history thing. Well whatever, maybe my Jericho thing was wrong, but that was Diesel's idea anyway. Point being he's a Grand Slam Champ!

It amazes me sometimes that so many of you have no sense of wrestling history.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated has thier PWI almanac that comes out usually around Feb.-March and it has all the title histories.
The U.S. Championship was originally known as the NWA North American Championship which later became the NWA United States Championship in 1975 or 1976.
Roddy Piper didn't win the title until 1981 when he defeated Ric Flair.
The NWA/WCW TV title was established in 1984 and was held by Mark Youngblood who defeated Dick Slater in March of that year.
Also, The Feud between Piper and Greg Valentine took place from 1982-983 ending at the first StarrCade in a bloody Dog Collar match which left Piper def in one ear.
As far back as I can remember...I've always wanted to be a gangster.

Well, Jim Crockett, Eric Bischoff, and Vince McMahon have done a lot of work in the past 20 years to destroy wrestling history, so it doesn't surprise me.
With so many titles, and so many changes, nobody can keep track anymore.
I long for the days of long-time secondary title reigns. The T-V title was good for that, with guys like Arn Anderson and "Stunning" steve Austin....'till Hogan showed up..

The US Belt was and is the
equal of the INT belt.... Guys
like Lugar were wearing the US
belt while Z-man and Arn
Anderson were going after the
TV Belt.
