With a little help from Booker T and Vince McMahon, he defeated "Stone Cold" Steve Austin to win both gold belts. And smarks (like me) around the world rejoice!

Of course, the WCW belt is pretty worthless at this point, and they'll probably job out Jericho THIS VERY WEEK to the Rock or Austin for the gold, but still, let's not let cynicism ruin the moment!

Congrats to Chris Jericho! He's finally arrived! The glass ceiling just broke!!!

I doubt he holds it until the Royal Rumble. I see him losing it on a Raw between now and the Rumble. And as much as I want to see HHH/Austin at WM, it better be with HHH as a face.

I've always been a big fan of Jericho, right behind Benoit and Shane Douglas, but this reign so far just seems "wrong:"
Booker T should have nothing to do with Jericho being champion. WWF is saying their champion still isn't good enough to win the title by himself. it seems HHH is the only heel they have that kind of confidence in.
They've ruined all credibility to the unified title already with, what? 4 run-ins, including Mcmahon (go away!) and an "evil ref"
WWF needs a new shot in the arm, and I'm hoping big things happen once HHH and Benoit come back, because Rock-fest just isn't cutting it, IMO.

what run in's? jericho said mcmahon was there to make sure there was no outside interference. Jericho can't control who runs in and out of the ring. he just took advantage of a situation. and what about the rock coming in and giving jericho the rock bottom? Y2J won it fair and square, and to be the man you got to beat the man, and his last three victories were the rock, austin, and austin in the cage. Go Jericho Go!
