Do you know how long it takes to clear all the songs on GHII/GHIII and Rock Band???

After the disk read errors we were getting, he decided to format it, saying "Well it doesn't work anyway so this might fix it.". It started reading most discs again after I used a drive cleaner.

IS THERE ANY WAY FOR ME TO RECOVER THIS?

if you really wanted to you can remove the drive, put it in a computer and try to run a data recovery program, but this is a A LOT of work and not a guarantee to work

I believe there is a fix for this, can you do a recover gamertag? I would try the xbox on line site for faqs

Yeah, I recovered my gamertag fine. I have my achievements and score, but all of my saves are gone. I popped in GHIII to check and none of the songs were unlocked. Oh well.

you can on a normal computer, not sure about the xbox hardrive, but I doubt it is any different.

I formatted a PC this weekend, and then went back and recovered some files off of the formatted drive. it takes HOURS and is kind of a bitch to do, but it can be done. Most companies charge about 1000 bucks to do it

Formatting doesn't destroy data. It just removes the start and end of file markers on the hard drive, so that the computer goes ahead and overwrites the data without prompting. (I think it's the same in all OS's, Windows, Mac OS, and Linux alike.)

The problem becomes that with that data gone, it becomes very hard to find where data is, which is why you have to run these scans that take forever.

You might also want to remember that formatting does not destroy data if you decide to, say, sell an old computer.

I know you can do this on the WII but not sure on XBOX...you can unlock all the songs if you find the code online.

Yeah, but I had all but 1 song 5 starred on Hard, and a bunch 5 starred on Expert. Took a WHILLLLLEEEE to do that.
