I picked up the first Scott Pilgrim book at the NYCC last week and finally read it today. All I can say is how fantastic it is. It's a little rough around the edges, but it's really a great concept and alot of fun to read.
I stopped by Barnes and Noble on my way home tonight to be disappointed they only had books 3 and 4, so I need to hit other book stores this weekend and grab 2, 3 and 4. (Didn't buy them because I hate having books I can't read)
Has anyone else read this Oni masterpiece?

Scott Pilgrim is great. It's definitely a love it or hate it book. It's quirky but a really, really fun read.
I really like it, too. I am slightly bugged by the lack of character design diversity, but that is a minor problem.

After I saw the first trailer when it debuted I went on Amazon and purchased the first book and finished it the same day it arrived and then ordered the next 4. I am eagerly waiting for the final book this July.

I read the first book and wasn't annoyed that I read it, but wasn't really compelled to make an effort to read the rest.
My indifferance was what had me deciding to go see the movie for Edgar Wright despite how I feel about Michael Cera.
I have now flipped from the trailers and am 100% sure I can't handle it. I still might see it, but only because I hate myself.

It's part of the plot of the movie actually, pretty funny too.
Anyway, saw the movie, and it's pretty damn good. Nice comedy, a very cool hipster vibe that doesn't become overbearing, the soundtrack is good, and it has some of my favourite actresses in it - Anna Kendrick, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, and Mary Winstead just joined the list.

See it. Yeah, Michael Cera plays Michael Cera (on steroids), but it's Wright at his best. In terms of directorial quality, it's every bit as great as Fuzz and Shaun. Now, without Simon Pegg & Co., it's not the same type of film and not the same type of comedy, but it's a good film nonetheless.

That's the reason I don't want to see it. At one point I found Cera playing Cera to be fun, now I'm just bored with it.

The on steroids part is kind of fun. It's him beating the shit out of a bunch of people, which is so counter-character that it's hilarious all by itself.

The comics annoyed the hell out of me and I couldn't make it past book 3, but I loved the movie! Edgar Wright saves the day, I guess.

You got through two books that you were annoyed with? One, I might get, but how do you start a second book?

My friends were raving about it, so I figured maybe it started off slow and got much better! With a lot of comics the first trade if often by far the weakest one! Plus the books are really easy to get through quickly. You can read one of them in like half an hour!

I loved the movie. It was fun in every way. The soundtrack and score are great.
Fuck the marketing for this movie for making it look stupid. It's the same thing that happen with Kick-Ass. Everyone I told to pick it up on Blu-Ray said the same thing,"Oh, really it's good? From the commercials I thought it looked stupid and kiddish...". Way to go Hollywood. Let's just keep churning out action flicks and vagina movies.

Michael Cera is Ben Stiller 2.0. The movie could be great but I'm so tired of his stupid face that I can't watch it.
