Hopefully a 599 Mac will help bring prices down. This looks like it will rock for being a basic entry level Mac.

im thinking about giving up on pc's. vista is so god awful and i cant find a xp laptop anywhere. it might be time to give apple a chance.

If you don't want to make the switch to Apple (personally, I'd love to if I could afford it) you can get a Vista laptop and get a legit copy of XP Pro for 140 bucks on Ebay.

i have a 2 month old 17inch laptop with 2 gig ram and built in web cam but i dont know how to do all the partitions and other stuff you need to do.

If you're loading a new OS on it, you just pop the CD in, and it walks you through all of that. It's really easy. You will lose Vista, but you don't like it anyway.

EDIT: Though you do need to set the bios to boot from the cd first. That's not hard, either.

i switched to Mac in January and kick myself for not doing it sooner.
