So, after over a year of trying to get my wife to quit her job and spend more time at home with the kids (and myself while I'm on days off, especially when the kids are at school  ) she finally pulled the pin.
She put in her notice March 31, her last day is today. She's already taking an active roll in the kids activities, my girls are booked in for soccer (something that wouldn't have happened because of work restrictions) and she stepped in to volunteer as my sons lacrosse coach (his coach quit the morning of the first practice).

She's been handed the ball and she's running with it like a champ.

I really got nothing to say..... I'm just proud of her.

Your kids are going to benefit greatly with her home! Fantastic news. You should be proud.

Congrats- I think it's the best thing you can do for your kids. Does take a strong woman, though.

Sounds like a good mom. My mother was a teacher so she had summers free, I think that made a ton of difference. I mean look at me.

I'm sure glad my mother wasn't a teacher.

I'll talk to my wife again, We can work something out.... Maybe we can start our own little mormon-like homestead.

I think if I mention your mod quote she'll be down for it.... anything to stop the nagging from me.

Oh, I didn't say anything about her homemaking abilities... It's just a step in the right direction.

If I could get her (or anyone) pregnant again, my goal would be to have her pregnant, in the kitchen baking bread and sewing my sock holes by this time next year.
Since I'm not able to, I just want the kids to have at least one parent around.

I work away 20 days, then I'm home for 8.

That sure as shit better be enough time to have supper ready.

Historically though, No.

I was talking about the other kind of eating out. You know the one when a man and a woman love eachother very much? OK forget it :drunk:
