I'm sure in Iowa you all enjoy pop down by Crackleberry Creek, catching Fireflies and telling tales out of school.

But yes, 'pop' (or 'Coke' as we hayseeds in the South call every carbonated non-alcoholic beverage) tastes better in a bottle. Even more so than the fountain pop, I believe.

Are you guys talking about SODA?

And yes, it tasted much better. No plastic after taste. Best of all, when you were finiished with the bottle you threw it right in the garbage. None of this seperating and recycling bullshit.

I miss the machines where it felt like you were going to break the bottle when you pulled it out.

Glass bottles keep the pop colder. Plastic bottles always seem warm to me, even after floating in tubs of ice. I prefer cans over plastic bottles, too.

Does any one else remember The Pop Shoppe? They had one in my city when I was a kid and you could go in and they would have like 30 flavors of soda and you could mix and match your case. And then you'd bring the empties back.

Absolutely no soda tastes better than a Coke in a green glass bottle. It's scientifically impossible.

AND STOP SAYING "POP," GODDAMMIT.

Even more delicious out of the more squat glass bottles from the 70's and 80's.

Where I grew up we had a softdrink company called Grandma's..most of you older people will remember a similar local brand..I think they sent out the syrups from a particular company and the local company would make their own concotion an lable it as their own brand with the main compant logo over it..I remember RC was always prominant..
The Root beer and Birch beer were the best..and I miss http://thebottlecapman.com/images/Unused%20Soda%20Cork2/Nehi_Grape_Soda.jpg
We had a red soda called Cherokee Red..It was like a Cherry flavor..it rocked!..
And Fuck you to the Shasta company!..I had to drink your swill in cans forever!..Most puke inducing was the chocolate soda!...

Sam Elliott : "Hey you got any sarsaparilla?"
Bartender : "Sioux City sarsaparilla."
Sam Elliott : "Yah. That's a good one."
