View Full Version : Ruthless People
What's your opinion of them? You know the type: always looking out for #1, remorseless, cunning, deceitful, merciless, going about their lives with a single-minded purpose - their own advancement. They have little regard or respect for the rights and feelings of others and are only concerned with their own happiness.
I guess what I'm asking is could a Donald Trump (or anybody at the top of their field) ever get to be so successful if he wasn't such a prick? To a lesser degree, maybe someone you've worked with who moved up the company ladder and stepped on a lot of people on the way.
Do you admire them for their focus and accomplishments even though you don't agree with their methods?
Do they sicken you, making you think they're inhuman and that no end result is worth their barbarism?
Do you think it's possible for someone to achieve great things without living such a callous and cold-hearted lifestyle?

It depends. If you create something (like a Bill Gates) and it sells, I think you can be the best without being utterly ruthless. But in order to work your way up in a field, either in your own company or someone else's (like a Donald Trump), you have to be ruthless.

I like to decribe them as the anti-gvac or as this guy known as gvacmobile.

If I was a Redskins fan, I'd probably be pissed.

no, i think you have to be an ass to become successful. but when you do, thats all you've got because you've burned every bridge to get there.
i always said that about politicians and those in high-power: you dont get there without scratching some backs and giving some handys.
in all honesty, i loff and loff at those in high power. especially the type-a's; nothing amuses me more than watching somebody like this blow their top and have a mental breakdown.

I do think someone can acheive great things without being a prick, but it will probably take longer.
At least I hope so..... I deal with these types everyday and I don't want to be one of them, but would like to acheive some greatness, well at least the paycheck.
