-- Sources say that the XWF and Sting have come close to reaching a deal for Sting to return to professional wrestling working for their organization. Curt Hennig stated Sting is on his way to XWF, and it's almost as good as a sure thing. Others say this is merely hype, and Sting has not yet even participated in negotiations with the up-start promotion. Many feel Sting has done everything he has to do in this sport, and has no plans on returning at all. Many are under the impression that Sting has officially retired, without a big announcement being made of it.
-- Curt Hennig also mentioned Scott Steiner is on his way to signing with the XWF as well. It appears as if not much truth is behind that either. Scott Steiner currently has no long term plans etched in stone after his deal with the WWA tour of Austrailia runs out. The WWF has high interest in signing Steiner, and consider him to be their number one free agent they look to sign. Steiner has mutual feelings towards WWF and wants to sign with them as well. However some issues stand in the way of this taking place. Steiner would have to agree to a small downside guarantee, as well as work more dates per month than he is used to. One would think it is not such a big obstacle, but it haulted negotiations between Nash/Hall and the WWF earlier this month. The only other thing holding Steiner back from signing with the WWF is his foot injury. He wants to be fully recovered before he takes on a full-time schedule with any promotion.
This would suck if they actually sign with that other promotion that doesn't have a tv deal just yet. I hope this is false but I'll just mention it for those parties interested.
