I am so pissed off right now I could scream.
We are trying to get preapproved for a mortgage. I dropped all the paperwork off on Wed. morning to the branch manager who I am dealing with. He says I'll let you know in a couple of days...to me that means 2. Thursday evening rolls around, no phone call. I wait until 1 pm on Friday, when I still haven't heard from him so I call and leave a message on his voicemail. By 5 pm I still have no reply. This morning I called there, they are open on Saturdays, he is out of town until Thursday....I lost it . I don't know what to do now. I just need to calm down and get stuff organized and start over AGAIN.
:furious:

That's why I only use my credit union. Credit Unions are a lot more customer friendly! F banks who think they're doing you a favor when you give them YOUR money!

Sorry to hear it hunner. I would sympathize but as a fancy man I have people to sort these things out for me. Her name is sarah.

This is the best part jujubees...it is a Credit Union. My b/f didn't even want to deal with the CU but there are only 2 banks here that deal with mortgages where we want to buy and they are one of them.

What a lousy credit union then. I've been using my credit union since 1994 and have had nothing but great experiences with them. I have the mortgage, two car loans, savings and checking with them. The rates are great and they have no service fees.

Right. What is a loonie dollar anyway. Pure silliness. As long as we keep ignoring the fact that theirs is worth more than ours things will get better.

Well I got home from work at 3:30 and got on the phone to a mortgage specialist from another bank. Within one 15 minute phone call we got pre-approved.
The CU I was dealing with is the bank where I have both my personal and business accounts, thats why I wanted to deal with them first. I know the guy is really busy but the issue here is time. The house we want to put an offer on is out at the lake and those properties sell so fast it isn't funny. The difference of 3-4 days could mean the house could be sold right out from under us. He knows what the housing market is like here in the city, it is completely a sellers market. The city is in a huge boom and there are very few places available, its almost impossible to get an apartment here because the mine and hydro scoop up anything that comes up for their workers and contractors.
Tiny little 1000 square foot slab houses are selling for well over 100,000. We live in a trailer in a really nice park but our place is old and the real estate agent thinks we can get over 115,000....FOR A TRAILER.
Anyway the good news is the money is available to us, and I am 90% sure I am going to pull all my accounts from the CU and switch it over to this bank.

Now we just have the stress of making an offer and hoping it gets accepted.

Good luck Hunner! I know what its like to deal with mortgage specialists and I'm glad you decided to go with someone else. You can't wait on people because they honestly aren't interested in your business. Make sure you lodge a complaint and move your money into the other CU asap.
