Sort of glad..but I like the XM only...way funnier shows and they can say dudy and poopy. They can also make fun of goverment officials......ooops forget the last part.
At least now while I am at work in the basement I can still hear the show. But once upstairs...XM ALL THE WAY<>>>>>THATS WHAT I SAY.

The FM show is still unlistenable but it has gotten better. It is clear that they wake up your wife, rock scream, and listen during the most important break for ratings and we will give you a thousand dollars was because they were worried about not being renewed.
Hopefully it will get better now but then again Anthony stayed up all night drinking (AGAIN) so they decided to not do a show for their hardcore fans.

Agreed. I tune in from time to time when I'm driving during the morning just to keep tabs, because I was a big time fan of theirs once upon a time.
It's getting better, but it's still not good, and more times then not I flip to something else.
What's happened to the XM show is sad, though. On most days you may get an hour and a half tops, and a lot of that is just counting the seconds until they're off air.
When they were doing the 7-11 shift on XM each day, that was probably the best period for them ever, and that includes the WNEW days.

Me too. I don't want to lose interest in them, but they just aren't entertaining me anymore. Maybe I've changed. I'm sorry OnA, it's not you, it's me.

Psst...Ant was just sick. That was a replay from the show where he was hungover about a year ago.
It would be funny if they pulled some stunt tomorrow that gets them fired right after reuping with CBS.

I didnt listen to the show to start, because the first hour may be the worst thing in radio, so I just assumed the alcoholic part again.

I also didnt like Ant saying in response to someone saying Ron and Fez record shows for days they wont be there, "That show is full of psychopaths" without his little fake over-modulated chuckle.

I think its a smart move for both sides, CBS & O&A. There really isn't anything better out there at this point so O&A deserve that spot. Their show suffers slightly but this is where they need to be.

I get home right around the start of the show personally I like the first hour. Its good because it seems like the only time they are just riffing on CBS. About 7:00 Opie goes into pre planned zoo show mode and watches the clock untill the next break.
I also didnt like Ant saying in response to someone saying Ron and Fez record shows for days they wont be there, "That show is full of psychopaths" without his little fake over-modulated chuckle.
That was clearly a joke. Its been said a million times the 2 shows are different. Ant shouldn't talk since most Sun or extra shows he's on it......they must all be "unstable".
I don't mind O&A best of's too much since they are usually well produced, and of course the best material over the years. The exception being the CBS show which is crap even on Vacation weeks.
CBS show has improved, I give it 5 out of 10 "Ant Rants" on my sleep deprived ranking system.

The real questionis why would they continue on XM?

The real questionis why would they continue on XM?
Because, they're under contract.

And being on XM gives them an international platform, it's basically another syndication arm.
I think this is basically "wait and see"... they have a safety net to fall back on in case they are let go in the merger.

that sucks. i was hoping they'd go to afternoons once the merger happened and ron and fez would go back to nights.

I would love to hear them at nights, I never have but I imagine they would be great then.

It still could happen. Has to see how the merger plays out first.

While I agree with this to a point(I do so miss the Golden Age of XM), I've recently been listening to some old shows('05), and there was good amount of energy in the show now that wasn't there then.

I agree with everything you're saying here. The early XM Days (post subscription only/pre-CBS) were by far the best radio I heard from them. The show had an adult feeling, like the show was for grown-ups and not trying to appeal to kids.
I find it hard to hear Anthony's insane and misinformed rants. Also, the show has a meanness to it that is tiresome and pointless.

The NYRMB thread also noted the contract is only for a year. Any significance to that?
Is there going to be yet another format flip at 92.3 in a year or does CBS think there weren't any other offers out there for the boys so why give them a long term contract? Are they waiting to see if they'll get dropped from XM after the merger with Sirius?
Somewhere along the line they really need to go back to afternoons.

i thought the early XM shows (pre CBS) were classic....there was a fresh, exciting and dare i say adventurous feel about it....once they went back to terrestrial, it was back to business as usual.
When i first heard about the initial move to CBS, i thought the show was destined for ruin (in an entertainment sense) unless the CBS show was merely going to be the XM show edited/dumped.....once i learned it was basically 2 seperate shows, i knew my interest in the show would soon wane...

Someone said that the length of the contract has to do with the merger, that XM won't allow them to sign with any other entity for longer than a year. I don't know how much water that holds, it makes sense in some regards.
