i have a personal trainer who i've been working with for about 4 months. she is really good at motivating me but i kinda feel a little guilty keeping her on. i realized that if she were a he, i probably wouldn't have employed her for so long. is it wrong to keep paying the trainer because i feel more comfortable training with her than a guy? any opinions on this?

Are you saying she's not doing a great job? And the only reason you're keeping her on is because you're maybe attracted to her? Or are you saying you feel BAD for her? Or are you saying you just don't NEED a trainer anymore? Your not really being too clear here...

There are plenty of female trainers out there you could go to if you wanted to find something better. If you just feel bad for her, DON'T... just end the relationship and let her know you appreciated her and enjoyed working with her.

no, she is very effective and i do enjoy working with her. the backstory is when someone joins this gym, you get a free training session. there are 3 male trainers, 1 female. by luck of the draw, i got the female trainer. i just think that if i got stuck with 1 of the male trainers, i probably wouldn't have kept them on this long. maybe it's just that the male trainers are like gym rats and my pudgy body doesn't stack up. i don't feel bad for her and i still feel i need the training aspect but am i being hypocritical or am i just more comfortable with a female pushing me to work out?

p.s. she is hot

I don't get why you feel like you're being hypocritical. It's entirely possible that you're just more comfortable with a female trainer... for the exact reason you said about the male trainers being ripped and maybe your self-consciousness is getting in the way. Women are nurturers and maybe that's why you feel more comfortable. Maybe her approval makes you feel good about yourself. Whatever works for you, you should stick with, until it gets to the point where it's not working for you anymore.

I don't see what the problem is. I'd much rather have a female personal trainer because I would listen to a woman who is trying to help me out.

If some guy told me to run around the block he'd get a polite "Fuck you."

That's what I'm here for. To help. And to hold. But not you, I won't be holding you.

have you ever seen biggest loser? the guy is much more of a nurturer. the women trainer is nuts and doesnt want to hear shit. she is very tough and in my opinion far from a nurturer.

She is a bit of a special case though! I think both of those trainers on that show are awesome, but yes, Bob is more of a nurturer.

I go to the Dodge YMCA In Brooklyn and I love my trainer. I think all Y's have a free Training program. Much like any program you get out of it what you put in. I have lost about 35lbs since I started in Sept. I think that has to do with me wanting it more than a trainer. That being said they do help and motivate.

All they do is guide. I say keep her on only if you feel she is a benefit.
