..but kinda boring being there live.

On the other hand, I enjoy baseball much more in person.

I love watching hockey just as much either way.

What sports do you think are better on TV and which are better to attend live?

i couldn't agree with you more!

i've only been at a college football game, but i think it's much better on TV.

Baseball is great on TV, but is fantastic live (a bit higher in the stadium gives a better perspective, as opposed to field level, where you miss a lot)

hockey is great on TV. Live can be underwhelming, especially early season, where the crowd isn't that excited and you can practically hear crickets chirping at certain points. playoff hockey is great on TV and even better live.

as for other sports, i can't imagine golf being particularly exciting live. it's boring enough on TV, but at least you get to follow each golfer through each hole. being in a grandstand on the course could be exciting on a great putt, but 90% of the time it must be a snooze-fest.

Hockey is far superior in person then it is on TV. Baseball is better to watch in person but awesome either way. Football is much better on t.v. then live, as well as basketball.

I think Basketball and Hockey are much more exciting in person then on tv. You can see the whole court / ice and watch plays develop in a way you can't on TV.On top of that you can't apprceiate how fast things are moving on TV.

Football is easier to follow on TV, however attending a football game entails a lot more then just watching the game, the tailgate, excitement in the crowd, freezing your balls, etc is what makes the experience so enjoyable.

Baseball to me is good both ways. Its better live but I don't feel it loses as much as Basketball and Hockey on TV.

The Pro Bowling Tour is just made for TV.

Live football is not the greatest. There is an unbelieveable amount of down time when watching football that get covered by commercials and replays and announcers talking that is not going on at the football stadium. The worst part is after touchdowns. Theres a break they kick the extra point TV time out line up for the kickoff then kick then another commercial break then finally a play from scrimmage.

As an add on to this topic Tivo and DVR is the way to go with Football.I can begin a game at 200 and skim through all the wasted time and still finish the game at 400.
try it

i only enjoy hockey live. baseball is okay, but i find myself paying less attention to the game as it goes on(though that can be the drinking). i went to one NFL game live and I hated it. so much better on TV. the tailgating is fun, but i'd rather sit in my living room.

Baseball is about the only thing live I care to see. I liked basketball but now all these teams have got stupid dance teams and other pointless crap for "entertainment".

I like baseball live the most, maybe football second, but it really comes down to the weather conditions. Most of the football games I've been to have been in the cold and that usually leaves me thinking that I'll just watch games on TV instead. If I could nominate a sleeper candidate, I used to go to a lot of college Lacrosse games and Championship weekend is a really good time. If you get a chance, it's worth checking out.

Nothing beats a Skins vs. Cowboys game at FedEx, the atmosphere is great hearing 80,000 people screaming we want dallas over and over is crazy

I cannot stand football on TV... mostly because of the commentary. It's pointless drivel. "This team has got to a) move the ball b) throw the ball c) score touchdowns in order to win." Do they? I have to watch it at a bar with music over the announcers.

Other than that, I prefer a live event. It's just more exciting.

Totally agree. My favorite sport is football. I love it. Yet I do not enjoy it in person as much as on TV. Exact opposites on baseball, can not watch baseball on TV but love it in person. Nothing beats a ball game on a summer day or night and a nice cold beer.

Hockey is cool in person, never saw basketball...not a fan. I would like to see soccer. One thing I do not get..NASCAR..what is the point???? Just don't get it.

Hockey is the best in person to watch ,the action is non stop, you don't need an announcer to keep you from being bored. It is the only sport I can watch sober.

Being a Giants fan, I dont get to go to enough football games, tickets are very hard to get

I love to visit new stadiums and watch a baseball , but heavy drinking is needed to cure my boredom

This year I am gonna see Petco Park in SD and Coors Field

also 2 Phillies games in Cit Bank park, any Met or Phillies fan want to meet up, Ill let you know the dates

Baseball and Hockey are amazing live, love watching them on tv but so much better.

Unless you have tickets betwee the 40 yard lines and in the ower level, football sucks live. You can't see much of anything and plus as I get older I am noticing the freezing conditions more.

Also with HDTV, i don't miss live events as much. The picture looks like I'm there and a case is cheaper than three beers anywhere

I've found football moes quicker live than one would expect. I thought it would drag on between plays and I'd lose interest when I seen it live, I was surprised to find out that I couldn't spend too much time looking around or mingling or I'd miss a down.

Lacrosse is a sport that needs to be seen live, the Telecast does it no justice. When watching it live it is an amazing sport.

Hockey I can watch live or on TV, to me the quality of the game is the same. The difference is being in the rink with the atmosphere.... That's where I get a little wet in my panties.

Baseball is really good on television, but absolutely rules live.

May I submit a sleeper: Soccer. Soccer is freaking terrible on television, but is way cool live. The atmosphere and the entire field of play change the entire dynamic.

I'm one of the few that loses attention watching pro football on TV pretty quickly, but live I love every second of it.

College sports are dogshit live or on TV.

Pro basketball I definitely prefer on TV than live.

Baseball rules live.

American league baseball live is the best
ive only been to a few nl games but for some reason they blew
it might not be fair because the culture of the oakland athletics is so much better then the giants and there fans

basketball great live

football sucks to be there in person
why the fuck are we waiting again

i completely agree with you there. i get bored very easily watching a game on television.

hockey is better live cause you can see the whole ice and watch the play develop (i think earlshog mentioned this as well). but i will watch any hockey game on television that i get a chance to.

i love watching baseball on tv, but is way better in person. i wish i lived closer to a major league team so i could catch more games live. i always have a blast at games.

another sleeper for everyone: tennis. kinda blah on tv but in real life, you can begin to really appreciate a 135 mph serve when you are sitting courtside.

You should see a baseball game in America! It's the best!

Yo, the Cowboys games are fun, but football sucks live. Maybe its just my poor ass and the cheap seats.

Baseball is tight live though

at the game or on tv its pretty much the only thing i watch most times

You know, on a nice day like today with the sun shining but a cool breeze, opening the windows and watching a baseball game on the couch is almost as good as being there.

My brother worked for the Nets, and he wont go to any live events anymore no matter what the sport because he used to be able to watch the games from courtside (and this was when the Nets were good and in the Finals). He did tell me the best was making fun of Isaiah who used to watch from the tunnel before he coached.

He also got told by Laurence Franks to shut the hell up during the draft

the tailgating pre-football is WAY better than the actual live game.
and in the winter..... give me a cozy couch, some wine, and the game on the telly!

Baseball is amazing live and on TV. But sometimes it's nice to be able to change the channel.... (like in the past three MET games ...........)
