I'm trying out a new recipe for dinner tonight: Pork Chops Cordon Bleu (stuffed with fontina cheese and Canadian bacon) What would you serve with it? Mashed potatoes and a green veggie? Apple sauce?

I's is stumped.

Mashed or a baked potato sounds good to me, plus green beans or broccoli.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm trying to do, kraft a dinner.

You're not helping me, Fallon.

I like rice. Either long grain wild, or pilaf. Someone suggested scalloped potatoes, and that sounds good, too. Either way, dinner sounds delish.

Salad with a nice, tangy dressing, garlic mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and a decent red wine.

Grill the chops, with a side of red cabbage and apple sauce and B&B beans with bacon. Dont go with the beans with maple, your kitchen wil stink for days.

I'm the wrong person to ask... dinner tonight is green grapes and a bottle of water.

Apple sauce?

Throw some butter in a skillet, slice up some granny smith apples and sautee them till they get soft and slightly browned. Add cinnamon and sugar to taste. Raisins if you have them around. Voila.

EDIT-Must be grannys, other apples will turn to mush. Goldens might work, maybe.

It's posts like these that make we wish Hottub was single and I was born a woman.

Go for scalloped potatoes rather than mashed for pork. And yes you def need applesauce, a little dollop on the side.

It's about the gravy from the chops on the spaetzle. (it's kind of like German gnocci)

i think it's safe to assume dinner has already been served by now, but at any rate, i'd go with home fried potatoes and mashed turnip with plenty of black pepper.

my mom would always serve pork chops with chicken flavor rice a roni then we'd eat both with duck sauce from the chinese place up the block.

i have no idea why thats the only time she'd make rice a roni.

If anyone was wondering, I couldn't get decent chops so I went with chicken cordon bleu instead. Sides were steamed broccoli and roasted potatoes and a tossed salad to start. Went over well. I'll try the pork next month with scalloped potatoes and the mashed turnips.

Thanks for the suggestions!

potatos seem like they'd be too heavy to serve with something that's stuffed with bleu cheese and bacon- i know it's a moot point but i would've gone blanched green beans, grilled asparagras or a little peppery salad
