The Yanks can suck my left nut. Cheering for Steinbrenner and the Yankees is like cheering for the Hilter and the Axis Power. I recently found out that my life my life is over--Jason G. is now a dirty Yank. I'm just a kid and I've had to endure not 3 but 4 crotch-kickingly painful Bronx
MLB championships-- as well as the accompanying parades and celebrations. The only way I can continue living my life like nothing happened is if I can read post from other rfnet members condemning the actions of the NY Yankees and Jason Giambi. If anyone thinks that I may be taking baseball a little too serious, feel free to suck my unoccupied right nut. Thank you and godspeed D-Backs.

Tough you big fag! Tino was good at first and now we add a stronger back to our lineup. Your pissed because the dbacks got lucky this year and the yanks are going to win it again. The yanks always have the money to get however they want and do it while still under the salary cap. DON'T BE JEALOUS!
And since the steinbrenner is like hitler, then if you keep talkin crap about the yanks, I will personally stick your ass in an over and watch you cook, you big fag.

Let the games begin ;-)
As a die hard yankee fan, ninja, rest assured the Yanks will Suuuuuuuuuck this coming season.
Jeter will have about 300 errors without Tino saving him from throwing all of those plays away, remember, Tino's been on 1st Jeter's WHOLE CAREER
and I can imagine Petitte's pickoff throw bouncing right off Giambi's head, then he beats the crap out of Soriano, just because he reminds Jason of Miguel Tejada....
I can see it now, Ventura works about 25% of the season due to injury...and Clemens will never win another game again
Karsay helps the pitching drought a little, but the fielding will KILL them next season, mark my words...
wow, didn't mean to get off on a rant there....SEEYUH...later

Very good trade my man, now the question for the Mets becomes "who will be their second baseman??" I am putting my money on McEwing, now that Justice is in the outfield...Mc was a 2nd Baseman with the Cards.

oh, geez. you guys are all mets fans here too?
OK, why are you guys mets fans as opposed to Yankee fans?
I'm a Yanks fan because my parents were, and when I was born they lived about 2 blocks away from the stadium, and I also watched channel 11 tv a lot through the 80's and I'd be constantly exposed to them, as much as they ALWAYS lost, regardless of their great history.
Anyway, after the strike, and after I got out of high school, stopped being so anti-jock and started following baseball more closely, I finally had something to cheer about, and out came the hordes of met fans that just HATE the Yankees, completely turning me off to them.
And BTW as a NEW YORKER (living in Jersey) I totally rooted for New York and the Mets in '86. I may be alone in that, but the Met fans' attitudes these past few years have been AWFUL, and just come off as bitter and jealous. no offense guys, I just got really cheezed by the met fans claiming Arizona's victory.

I was in a hotel in orlando florida when the yankees lost the world series. I jumped up and down like a druken nut then I started to point my finger in my buddys face who is a big yankees fan. They lost ha ha yessss!! I thought he was going to punch me.I hate them because they win too much and their fans are really spoiled. The only concelation to me is watching the Yankees lose year after year and cry baby fans crying because they never experienced a bad season.

See, Jingo's post shows the exact reason met fans get on my nerves. Guys, root for your team You had your chance and you lost, there, done. Yanks had theirs against Diamondback, but they lost, there, done. But you want to talk about crybabies? Tell you what, do I have to bring up the 2000 series and the excuses every game the Yanks won?
But I don't want this to turn into any kind of juvenile flame-thing, mature conversation/debate is welcome on AIM. my Screenname's on the board...

Wrong sheeplover, baseball is not a game, it's an corporate marketplace monoplized by Yankees Incorpated. Why doesn't Torre just give away a blank check to the opposing team's ownership before the game in exchange for not show up to the stadium and save Steinbrenner the agony of a possible competitive game. Maybe he could use get Don Zimmer to throw buckets of money down the first base line at opposing baserunner while they're in mid-stride in the hopes that they might renounce their current team
and join the dark side(Yanks) while they're legging out an infield hit.
Hey the Mets got Justice. With Franco, Leiter, and Appier, the Mets should be the favorites to take it all in 1996.

Old saying about the Yankees always winning. "Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for US Steel (or modern day juggernaught, Microsoft) you know they are going to win. But to root for the Mets is to root for humanity, that for one day, the not so powerful team can win...is more of a human factor versus corporations as Ninja puts it. Is easy for most Yankees fans to say they root for either team if they are in World Series, they are all FORMER Mets Fans that jumped the bandwagon when Charlie Hayes made the final catch of the 96 World Series and saw Wade Boggs live out his gay fantasy by riding around on the back of a horse...
But Mets fans come are descendants of former NY Giant (the baseball team people), and Brooklyn Dodger fans...rooting for the Yankees is like drinking a hot steaming cup of AIDS!!
So that is where many Mets fans come from

What is funny is that when the Yanks lost the series I was at a bar and all these Yankee "fans" were all in shock. We were reminiscing but not one of em could tell me the entire starting lineup of that team in '96!!! Some Fans...
And there only reply to me asking that was "Well you are only a Mets fan, figures you would remember that". But wouldnt you remember a team like that?!?! Especially if you were such a hard core fan...I mean I can name the starting nine of the 81 Mets...cause I am an anal retentive fan, I will admit that, but a fan nonethless...

Talk about have years of suffering with those two teams.
I am a Yankee fan am proud to be one. It is all fair game in the amount a team spends. There is not a rule that we only can spend that much money. If your team doesn't that is another story. If you notice anyway the core of the team are all home grown players that came from their farm system or through trades.

I have 2 comments in response to all this babble, and they are for Jingo and Ninja respectivly. First off, what do you mean Yankee fans don't know what it's like to have a bad season? DO YOU REMEMBER THE EARLY 90'S???? Christ, the Kevin Mass era was possibly the worst time period to EVER be a Yankee fan, so don't bitch about us not knowing what it's like to have a bad year. Second, Ninja, nobody can argue the fact that baseball is a corporate marketplace, but it isnt monopolized by any standard. I guarentee you would not be complaining if you piece of sh*t team, whoever they may be, was able to afford the best talent in baseball. What bugs me so much about you Yankee haters is that you would KILL to be in the position the Yankee fans are in, but since you can't be in it, you have to whine and complain about how it sucks. GROW UP!

so cheer for your teams and be done with it, you have some managerial issues to worry about, as well as trading half of one of the teams for a 2nd baseman with overactive saliva glands...

The yanks always have the money to get however they want and do it while still under the salary cap
Really? so theres a cap in Baseball now? hum? so i wonder why theres all this talk of contraction & small market teams not being able to compete with the big fish (read: yanks)? The Yankees will always be competitve because the AL East is the weakest division in Baseball & they have the most money to through around. Lets see them do anything with a payroll that is atleast in same ballpark as other teams. Also I dont expect Justice to be a MET next year, more then likely he'll be traded to an AL team to free up money for another addition (outfielder?). Now that we got Alomar at 2nd & Fonzi moving to 3rd our infield again is one of the best in Majors! we'll be spiting all over the compitition!
I dont care where Ventura is the MOJO is gonna rise in Flushing this year!!
