OMG how I love thee Wash N Fold.

I have a washer and dryer in my house but I royally suck at laundry. It piles up, or I put it in the washer and forget about it for a day and then it has to be rewashed. I never hang things up in time so they get all wrinkled.

Then one day I discovered glorious Wash N Fold. For like $30 I get everything washed (I do towels and jeans myself because I can fold those, and they're heavy). I drop it off and it comes back clean and magically folded perfectly!

Then a NEW Wash N Fold opened up by me and OMG OMG OMG. I went to pick up the laundry and they hung up each shirt individually on a hangar and did the same for all the dressy pants. Now my lazy ass doesn't even have to put shit on hangars.

Here's to you, wash n' fold lady, you're the best. :drunk:

I want a wash n' fold lady... in my house every day !

I hate, hate, hate laundry
barely ever makes it's way in my closet anymore, it piles in the laundry room (or hangs) and gets worn straight from there

And when you say magically folded... I know you mean MAGICALLY FOLDED!!! I've been folding laundry all my life and never once has anything ever looked like that when I'm done! It's always the sloppy fold. But when it's done for you..... it's beautiful!

I had that thing! I used it for like a week. Then my old habit of forgetting the laundry was in the dryer would start up, and I'd try to use the foldy thing on my wrinkled laundry and it would look pitiful :(

did it work? I would probably lose it UNDER the pile of clothes on my dryer :D

I dated this guy who one time was folding his laundry and being a good gf I offered to help. He was soooo super critical of my folding technique! It's sloppy, but it's just a shirt! An undershirt! It doesn't have to be perfect! I believe I threw it back at him and told him to fold his own damn laundry. Not such a good gf afterall.

The price at my place changes depending on how many lbs you drop off. I just dropped off 61lbs and it cost me $42... so I guess I paid around $.68/lb. But the place is brand new, very clean and they hang the stuff up on hangars for me.

up by us it's about .89 a lb, but still well worth it. i need to convince them to do that hangar thingy. we just moved and there's one closer to us that will actually pick up and deliver, i so need to find out what they charge.

Ohhh wash & fold sounds awesome. I too am unable to complete the laundry cycle.
I have decided that when I win the lottery I am going to have a self contained laundry/dressing room. The washer & dryer, hampers and all the closets & dressers will be right in there. That way everything is all in one place, no laundry all over the bedroom. The door can then simply be closed and the laundry magically disappears.

I just opened the folded portion of the Wash and Fold I just picked up (they even tie it up in a nice little plastic bag thing).

Wash N Fold lady made 3 stacks. Left stack is all Mens, Boxers, then sweatpants, then tshirts. In the middle is all underwear and socks. The socks are ALL MATCHED TOGETHER WITH THEIR PAIRS. This is something I would NEVER do. If I wash socks, I just throw them all into the dresser willy nilly and you hope and pray you can find something that sort of matches. On the right are my Sweatpants, then on top of that, tshirts. This is all arranged in a manner in which I just pick up the stack and put it right into the dresser.

YOU RULE WASH N FOLD LADY.

Why have I not heard of this before?

I have one of those mini stack washer/dryers that take FOREVER to dry clothes. This would be perfect for my comforter and sheets.

I tried Googling them --- how can I find if there's one of these near me?

look under laundromats or dry cleaners. you'd have to call and ask, or just drive by. more common to be associated with laundromats.

Usually Wash and Fold is located within a laundromat. They'll have a sign in the window that says "Drop off Service" or "Wash N Fold". They do charge extra for comforters, but not sheets.

yeah, generally comforters are a set price and not included with your other wash.

What a bunch a yuppies. :wallbash:
Paying upwards of $30 to have your laundry washed and folded because mommys not there to do it for you? Laundry couldn't be an easier task and yet it is now being farmed out to someone to complete.
No wonder we are falling so far behind the rest of the world. I can't believe the money that is being wasted due to utter laziness

Here is the deal, I work my regular job and and a contracting job. Jeff runs his own business and is working constantly. Laundry, therefore, falls to me.

My time is worth, give or take, about $30/hour. It takes me about 3-4 hours to complete laundry. That is a cost of $120 in my time. If I can pay someone $30-40 to do it for me, I come out ahead in the end. Also, I am really bad at doing laundry. So instead of messed up wrinkled clothing, I get nice, folded and hung clothing.

And, no one ever did my laundry for me as a kid. Starting at 14, I hauled alll that shit to the laundromat on my own. Maybe it scarred me for life and that is why I take great joy in Wash N Fold.

what if you live in a side apartment and have no washer and dryer

I don't have a lot of stuff, its either $8.00 in Quarters or $14 bucks to have them do it.

For $6 , I gain 2 hours from not having to do laundry, they fold 20 X better than me and place the nice collared shirts in hangers

this is a no brainer for me

Who Knew? A little old thing like that would turn an angry Missy into a happy typing girl...Good show..

When LaBoob said, you were a shitty boyfriend and you're a perfectionist who can
shove your perfectly folded undershirts up your Navy porthole. I nearly pissed myself.. But when she said, you were a hyper-critical donkey's ass who she long suspected of being a closeted homosexual, I asked why..She begain to rattle off a litany of reasons..First of which being, all you wanted to do in bed was read. Any book with Fabio on the cover, she said would do.. I wanted to hear more, but I couldn't get past this whopper..Where she may have crossed the line was when she said "PapaBear" was alot more like "Babybear", whatever that means ..
I really think she's still into you though..

I dated this guy who one time was folding his laundry and being a good gf I offered to help. He was soooo super critical of my folding technique! It's sloppy, but it's just a shirt! An undershirt! PapaBear says you're nuts and if it wasn't for your L.A. style boob job and navy blue boots he would have left you long before he did ..If it means anything at all, he did say the woman he left you for was nuts too.

i have a washer/dryer in my condo and i do my laundry and the kid's.
luckily, i can get 2-3 wearings out of a pair of pants and a shirt, so i only have maybe 1 load per week. and the kid's can go all in one load, maybe 2. so maybe on a saturday nite, i can crank out all of our laundry in 2 hours. thats washed, dried, folded, and put away. PIA does her laundry during the week whenever she gets a chance.

my dress shirts go to the 1.99 / garment laundramat, and always come back looking fabulous.

Got a place thats $.60/lb....can anyone beat that?

I have been doing mine at the local chinese spot for almost 10 years. They used to do a pick up and delivery when they first opened up. I jumped on board, and when they stopped doing that they kept a few customers gradfathered in.

Luckily I make 1 phonecall, in 20 mins flat they are here with a pick up van, walking up 1 flight of stairs, picking up 4 fat bags of laundry down the stairs into the van, cleaning my clothes "Same day service" (if its before 8 am), folding them and delivering them back to my appartment for fucking 55 cents. And they THANK ME when i leave them 1.00-3.00 tip.

Truly Unreal.

I really think thats why French wants to move in so quickly. She is using me for my laundry service.
