Best Band Ever (IYO)

There is no best band that can entirely be agreed upon by everyone. But in your opinion, who is the best band that ever played music?

For me, I'd have to go with The Clash. Very talented muscians with amazing lyrics and the ability to go and experiment in other areas and absolutely dominate them. They made punk something more than just three chords, fast, archaic music. So to me, The Clash truly are the only band that matters.

However, if I had to name the "best" band ever; international The Beatles - no band has ever been cooler, in America AC/DC - the made me cream my pants at a very young age.

I played this vinyl as a kid growing up until it was all banged up and a skipper that could not be fixed. Brian Johnson is no Bon Scott, however I saw AC DC the last time they were here at Nissian Pavillion and they still rocked. When Bon Scott was fronting this band they were arguably the best.

Technical Level???..Do you play...or are you taking about the Stones taking advantage of staying power and modern technology ?????..The cord charts of the Beatles are legendary..The Stones used a minor or a 3rd or even a 5th.about 1/2 as much as the Beatles did in half the writing time....Oh and vocals Harmony from the Stones?????....Two decades longer writing togetherand almost every song is in E,D, Or F..Oh I thing start me up is in G..:smile:......GO Cubs

I'm a completist, so I have to have every album by my fave bands.
That bein' said, the only band that I truly like every song they ever did was and is The WHO.
Even the B-Sides and rare songs are enjoyable.

A close second would be RUSH. There are only a couple of tunes I could do without.:smoke:

I saw Ratdog at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby last sunday the crowd was awesome and Bobby and the band seemed to feed off the energy.

You really think the Foo Fighters suck live? I thought they rocked! And the Replacements were hit or miss but were great on a good night. I guess if you're looking for that "jam band" kind of endless improvisation and soloing then FF and the Replacements would seem to suck live.
