Well, let me start with Elvis I guess -- and not the usual shit. The best place to begin is with the Sun Sessions. The first three tracks are from the Sun Sessions and feature the great Scotty Moore. I love the Sun Sessions stuff because it's so stripped down and raw. The other two tracks are just great tunes Elvis did before he went into the Army.

I believe the entire "Louie Bluie" film is available on you tube, it is a Terry Zweigoff documentary about the America's oldest string band, led by Howard Armstrong (Louie Bluie) who died in 2003 at the age of 94.
