They aren't allowed to broadcast any games until the 3:55 FOX games are over.

MLB.tv does, but Extra Innings doesn't.

Although next year with the launch of the baseball channel there will be no more blackouts for anyone.

My biggest problem with Torre was his complete inability to manage a bullpen.
Girardi is doing a fine job so far. This includes spreading out the work, not ruining pitchers (like Torre did with Gordon, Sturze, Proctor, Villone, Vizcaino...the list goes on and on...) and being open to using younger guys from the minor leagues. Torre had no idea who was in the minors and what they could do.

This is extremely interesting, it's called Net Baserunning Gain:

“It’s simply how many extra bases beyond average a player gains. For example, a runner goes first to third on a single about 30 percent of the time. The average is three out of ten. If a given player goes five out of ten, he is +2. We look at all the situations like this, scoring from first on a double, scoring from second on a single, and so on and so forth. If a player is thrown out on the bases, he receives a triple penalty (-3). And we count stolen bases, but it’s only a plus if it’s better than a success rate of two out of three (67 percent).

It makes a difference. The top ten baserunning teams are a collective 58 games over .500 and the bottom ten are 51 games under .500.

Here are the best (and worst) baserunning teams so far this year:

Best
Mets +77
Phillies +76
Rangers +74
Marlins +61
Rockies +58

Worst
Cardinals -22
Yankees -27
Padres -32
Orioles -36
Nationals -47

(The Yankees were at +64 last season, the seventh-best in baseball.)"

Austin Jackson has blown past Tabata as the best outfield prospect in the Yankees system. Tabata is well ahead of the traditional development path as a 19-year-old in Double-A, but he has hurt his cause by continuing to have problems with minor injuries and immaturity. He has rebounded from a slow start, though his overall .248/.320/.310 numbers, including just three homers in 79 games, leave a lot to be desired.

I wonder how much of that has to do with Bobby "Send 'Em Home" Meacham? I almost forgot what it was like to have a horrid 3rd base coach. Have you been watching this team?

Nady is what they needed. A good not great hitter that just hits.L F for us has been awful

They really fell off the cliff with their opinion on Tabata. I don't like giving up on a guy who just turned 20.

He really became a head case. Wanted to be released in the winter, had to be talked back into coming. And his #s have been terrible.

that was a great game. Joba really stepped it up in a huge game.

he is going to be a great #1 starter for them one day.

also i think they said in the game tonight Kennedy is ready to come back up, that should be interested

I was just watching Baseball tonight. Buster Olney said that GMs around the league are KILLING the Pirates. They are calling this deal a heist.

they are saying the pirates are not getting enough in return? the minor league guys being sent over are pretty decent

One very young guy with a VERY high ceiling and a few guys who have a long shot of being decent at best. As it stands right now, the Yanks made out like bandits in this one. Nady is a really solid hitter and fielder and Marte definitely is a big boost to the bullpen. Excellent trade by the Yankees.

the top prospect has falling from grace at the AA level, and had some issues that resulted in a suspensio

Yea, GMs are saying, that all they gave up? Tabata has REALLY slipped. Austin Jackson has blown past him. He wanted to quite in the offseason but was talked out of it. Oledorf is young but was terrible in his stint here.
