(I hope no one thinks that I'm jumping the gun here. If so, feel free to merge this with the current Giants thread.)
The Giants will open the NFL season against the Redskins on Thursday, September 4, 2008. HERE (http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/giants/2008/03/giants-skins-will-kickoff-nfl.html)
So, the Giants had requested that the NFL not schedule any weekday evening home games while the new stadium is under construction. This couldn't be avoided since the Super Bowl Champs always host the season opener.
Now, on top of that the NFL is thinking about moving the starting time up to 7:00 pm so as not to conflict with the last night of the Republican National Convention and McCain's eventual nomination. This means that people will be heading to the stadium in the middle of rush hour and all those off-site parking facilities will be full of the normal workday folks. Traffic promises to be a nightmare that day. If you're not going to the game, make a note to stay clear of The Meadowlands that day. And, if you work in the area I'd consider taking a half-day.
