Anyone know anything about this form of massage? I've heard great things, very physical and
provides a great deep stretch, kind of a slacker's way to achieve a yoga like stretch.

I had one when I was in Thailand in 1992 at one of the Wats (Buddist Temples). I remeber it was rather painful while I was getting it but afterwards I felt great.

It's good, the weird thing about it is that it's "active", the masseuse places your body in positions and kind of "assists" you into stretches, which I find less relaxing than just lying on a table and being pounded into noodledom.

Thai Massage is an Eastern body therapy incorporates techniques which combine pressure point, rocking, joint movement and stretching applications that resemble yoga asanas along the bodys energy lines. Thai massage increases flexibility, relieves joint and muscular tension, rebalances the bodys physiological and energy systems and treats chronic pain. It helps open up and release qi (energy) throughout your body. The treatment is done on a mat. Unlike normal (swedish) massage, the client is wearing loose fitted clothing. Shiatsu and Thai are great massages for those that have never had a professional massage before and who may be uncomfortable in getting undressed.
I recently became a Licensed Massage Therapist and always incorporate Shiatsu in my western work. My concentration in school was on Eastern Theory, so I learned a lot of Thai stretches which I use in my Shiatsu practice. I can't wait to go back to school to become certified in Thai massage and Watsu.

I think this would really help me, but I doubt there is anyplace on Long Island that does this.

I went for the actual, non-porn Thai mssage a few times when I lived over there, and it varied wildly each time between "oh my God, this is the most relaxed I've ever felt at every level" and "OH MY GOD, WHY ARE THEY TORTURING MEEEEEEEEE?!?"

a lot of spas are starting to offer this now...you can always check spa-addicts.com or spafinder.com for spas in your area and the services they offer.

Thanks, I have had this cramp like feeling deep in my thigh and if I bend my leg in a certain way it really bothers me. I have felt this for months!

Wouldn't know. Living there, you avoided partaking in the actual sex part of the sex trade unless you were just hopelessly desperate or had an ilnness/death-wish.
