No not the 5th through 16th centuries.
I mean, have you felt middle aged in life?
This week is the first week I really felt like I was out of reach from being young. Maybe it's the fact I am rolling up on 40 in a few months.. Maybe it's the fact I turn on MTV and wonder what the hell I am looking at.. I dunno. At what point did you guys feel the same thing?

I still act like a child at age 30, I assume once a house and the kids are added at some point I will feel it

I'm 45, married for 14 years with two kids (12 and 10) and still don't feel middle aged. I think part of it is working at a college and dealing with 17-21 year-olds on a regular basis.

Mathematically, I have passed middle age.
The men in my family dont generally last past 70 (my dad made it to 74 and he holds the record). So middle aged for me wouldve been 35. I'm past that.
Psychologically, I work with 20 somethings and have to keep up. I also try to date 20 somethings and have to keep up. End result being I feel alot younger than I am... with an occasional feeling of oldness.
So, to answer the question, I'm 42 this month and dont FEEL middle aged, altho I most certainly am.

That usually ages someone twice as fast

started to feel that way when the latest centerfolds were born while I was in college. Really hit the wall when I spent a month in the hopsital in Jan and a month home on disability in Feb (menengitis - almost bought the farm) - then I come back to hear Fezzie's under the weather.
2008 is not looking good so far. Let's hope it gets better.

I am very similar to Sailor in that I have felt very old for many years now. However, I don't know if I will ever feel "Middle Aged" since I already feel like I am on borrowed time.
I honestly thought I would be dead by now. Not that I am complaining, but when you expect to go at any minute you don't think about being "Middle Aged" all that much.
And I don't have a terminal disease or anything - I am just that pessimistic.

I am a high school teacher, around 16-18 yr olds all day and realized after this conversation I'm middle aged, and a threat to progress(46):
Student(making a comment on Pap in Huck Finn): He has a strong pimp hand
Me: No, I dont think Pap would be good with the ladies
Student: No, his pimp hand is strong the way he smack Huck around
So a pimp hand is the ability to use violence to keep one's hos in line? Not the ability to charm the ho into a sexual foray?
