I am not excited for it once they decided they were no villains and that they don't control the world. It is going to be a crappy adaptation. Plus i doubt they show the lengths that Wesley actually went in the book after he realized he could do whatever he wanted.

This is gonna suck.

There's no way it's going to be as nihilistic and fucked up as the book.

They change the crux of the plot from "super villains run the world" to "a group of assassins help shape world events from behind the scenes?" YAWN.

Both changes cut both huge balls off of the book and make it a completely different entity. In that sense, it may still be a perfectly watchable thriller, but it has almost nothing to do with what made the book what it was.

Exactly! Just call it something different so this horrible movie will not be associated with the book.

I liked the look a lot, but mojo kinda mirrors my opinions. I'm just hoping it doesn't suck.

This movie made no sense. I guess it did look pretty good though. Does the comic book have all of this nonsense about the "loom of fate"?

Really?

Is it surprising that it sucks the balls?

I must be telepathetic!

until it was pointed out that the movie was based on the comic, i had no idea

i read the tpb of the comic about 6 months ago, and loved it

anything i saw of the movie never made me think it was based on the comic at all

is the director the same guy who did nightwatch/daywatch

I had no idea it was based on the comic. The movie itself looks good in a matrix sort of way. I'm certain if I had read the comic and then saw what it has been turned into I'd be pissed also. Probably the same way I'll be when the Watchmen and The Spirit movies come out.

I have no idea how you make a single, 2-3 hour movie out of the Watchmen without totally assraping the story and reducing it down to yet another "Dudes in tights kick people's asses" movie.

Have to admit that the visual aspect was great. The movie as a whole was a little sketchy to me. Its a movie theater movie tho. Enjoy.
