I've been thinking about getting one of these for a while. I would use it with my TV mostly to stream movies, etc... Does anyone have one of these? Are you happy with it? I've streamed movies from my laptop to my TV via dvi but the sound coming out of the headphone jack to my stereo sucks. Is the sound acceptable on the mac mini?

I have a first gen mac mini on my tv and it works great. but if they're about to release a new one, I'd say wait a few and get the latest.

glad i didn't buy one yet - i just found out that you can't stream movies from netflix with macs. i will wait until they come out with that functionality which may be a while according to some netflix development blog i read... basically i just want to watch king of kong on my tv and i was looking for a reason to buy a mini.

I was scared to death to get my iMac and it was because I did not know anyone who used them and was afraid that I would have no support. I was also scared of their cost. I looked on eBay and found someone selling a used one that had everything I needed and it was half what a new one would cost, plus it still had a warrantee on it. I got a G5 and it was flawless. I stumbled a little trying to figure stuff out but gvac helped me and I love it. I have absolutely no issues and rarely get any pop ups and minimal worries of viruses and it is "stupid simple". I got word and excel and powerpoint for it and it works great.
If you get one, I am sure you will love it and it will become your main computer. I have my old one right next to this iMac and I rarely turn it on anymore. It is just a better machine. Period.
