Well, my HP desktop that I bought in the summer of '99 has been put out to pasture. I'll miss the old girl. She more than did her job for almost 9 years.

So today I went and bought this. (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8669951&type=product&id=1196470792281) I bought at Best Buy and they knocked off another $150 for signing up for Fios, which is why I was buying the thing anyway.

You know they have the internet on these things now?

Who remembers that band? Back when I was in .. um .. 9th grade? I used to think they were totally badass and hardcore.

I should go find some of their music to see what I think of it now a decade + later.

My advice to anyone that buys a new computer from a big company (dell, gateway, sony, toshiba, etc) Is to get a clean version of windows (just windows, none of that other shit that the company throws on there to get the price down) And reformat using that copy, and the key that comes with the computer. Update and save to a disk all the drivers.

I just bought a laptop that came with vista, formatted and installed XP, runs twice as fast. Some companies give you the option of contacting them about getting a clean windows disk mailed to you. They put on tons of unneeded software that runs at startup.
