Wow. Poor Patrick Swayze...
The phrasing in this article makes me sick... the way it's purposely pulling at your heartstrings... Yech...
The man who danced into the hearts of audiences worldwide in the 1980s in Dirty Dancing and then broke them in the poignant love story Ghost in the early '90s has lost more than 20 pounds in the past few weeks and is restricted to a liquid diet (http://www.nationalenquirer.com/patrick_swayze_cancer_weeks_live/celebrity/64581#) because he has trouble keeping down solid food, added the insider.
"It's time to start praying for a miracle."

How long has the Enquirer been saying Farrah Fawcett and Liz Taylor were on their death beds, people?
Patrick Swayze Has Pancreatic Cancer (http://www.abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/CancerPreventionAndTreatment/story?id=4395963)
contrary to published reports, his publicist told ABCNEWS.com Wednesday that he is not expected to die from the disease within weeks. "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far," Swayze's physician, Dr. George Fisher said in a statement released by the actor's publicist. "All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic."
However, the news definitely isn't rosey.
Pancreatic cancer has the highest fatality rate of all cancers, according to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is between three and six months and only 5 percent of those diagnosed live beyond five years.

Patrick Swayze has cancer (http://www.pagesix.com/story/patrick+swayze+has+cancer).
Now, I'm no fan of Swayze or his body of work, but pancreatic cancer is a big one, and although I'm sure he's getting the best care, it could end not very well. I've seen patients die of this, and it ain't cool.
'Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.'
Let's hope so.
The problem with pancreatic cancer is that it can spread very easily. They may get the tumor in his pancreas, but if it is going to his liver and kidneys, then it's a very big problem.
And the treatment for this type of cancer costs a boatload of money.

Its amazing how much cancer whittles a man away. Look at how different he looks. Horrible. I admire his fortitude to take that pain and not quit and he stayed firm in his beliefs and family. At least he is no longer suffering. He and Farrah took their pain and tuffed it out. Michael Jackson hid behind his pain which were only psychological. Micahel could never have handled pain like Patrick Swayze.

Well, a sadder death. Jackson was a creep. Swayze was a good guy.
I'm pretty sure good will triumph over evil now that Dalton is on God's side.

He and Farrah took their pain and tuffed it out. Michael Jackson hid behind his pain which were only psychological. Micahel could never have handled pain like Patrick Swayze.

For creeps that sit around dwelling on celebrity deaths, I guess.

He actually has a point.
He does. But Jackson was burned badly, which is why he started the pain killers. From what I heard.
But Swayze didn't take them while filming his A&E show so the character came off as real. Dedication.

To me...this is a bigger death than Michael Jackson. Sorry.
Don't apologize if that's how you feel. To me they are both equally sad, but for many others MJ's death had a bigger impact on their lives.. or more importantly MJ's life and music had a bigger impact on their lives than Swayze's. It's not a competition, it's a death and a loss.
Its amazing how much cancer whittles a man away. Look at how different he looks. Horrible. I admire his fortitude to take that pain and not quit and he stayed firm in his beliefs and family. At least he is no longer suffering.
Well said.. and look how happy he looks in that picture with his wife and dogs even while he was sick.
Michael Jackson hid behind his pain which were only psychological. Micahel could never have handled pain like Patrick Swayze.
ONLY? I kinda agree MJ most likely could never have dealt with Cancer in the dignified way Swayze did, but to compare any kind of pain, physical or psychological is unfair and silly.
He does. But Jackson was burned badly, which is why he started the pain killers. From what I heard.
But Swayze didn't take them while filming his A&E show so the character came off as real. Dedication.
Not to take anything away from Swayze, Lord knows I've had nothing but respect and admiration for the man, but Swayze also had something MJ did not:
decent, supportive people around him. This makes a huge difference in my eyes. Swayze had a loving and caring, devoted wife. MJ had 8 crazy siblings, an abusive father, a Jehovah full of denial mother and a circus of people surrounding him who never once had his best interest at heart.
Please, nobody say he deserved any of this because he may or maynot have been a child molester, that is not my point and it is irrelevant.
It's no Footloose.

Never saw it, but I'm sure it can never surpass the greatness that was Dirty Dancing and Flashdance!!!

if anyone is interested, his autobiography is coming out 9/29.
it was scheduled to come out that day before he died and he approved the final draft. his dying just before its release was in no way a publicity stunt by the publisher :o
