Test of fate

Say you awoke one night to a "godly-like" prescence. This could come in any form you like but not to be mistaken as a dream. This figure, (I said figure) tells you that you have a choice that will determine the fate of all mankind.
This vision wants you to go on a quest for one year which will in turn bring all people together into a whole new plane of existence. An entire world of people with a new understanding of life/death, universe, god...etc.. This journey will not break any moral codes yet will entail spreading a message which will unveil the eyes and minds of all humans.
If this mission is ignored you are told that after a year is up the world will turn into hell as Earl knows it.
If you accept, you must leave NOW. Leave everything behind you, your family, friends, job, house...etc. No saying goodbye to anyone. After a year is up you will no longer be of any existence. You will be forgotten forever like you never existed.
Now you are not 100% sure of this vision but it is as real as anything you have ever witnessed.
What would you do?

Since I don't imagine this supernatural vision would actually happen. I'll say that I'd go. As long as it was something cool, like riding a motorcycle around the world. Not like, feeding orphans in india. And then vanish away into nothingness. I'm cool with that, it'll happen anyways.

Can't you start out for a week, or even a month, or two, and see if anything significant is being unveiled to you? If not, go back home?

I'm a person of no faith, and it would take a pretty significant vision to convince me to abandon my dog, my life, my house, and my family (in order of importance). I would have to be absolutely sure it wasn't just the mexican pizza I ate right before bed.
