yeah they have a similar post over at newsarama.com but they already said the costs are too much and that brody couldn't carry the movie nor could any of the no names they are trying to cast. And also, dc has had some bad choices as of late with flicks, minus the great new direction of the bat franchise. They just haven't gotten on track with success like marvel has.

For the most part, those are reasons that the movie may suck.
But it doesn't mean it's not going to get made.

I have to disagree with that. Superman and Batman are more recognizable than Marvel characters. Spidey gets close, but I'd say that due to Supes and Bats, Marvel is second fiddle to DC.

the problem dc has is its marketing with the media, the most popular thing it's done is the jla cartoon, they don't even know how to build up a justice league film, first get a green lantern or flash movie out, (make them a set of GOOD action movies) then have them hinting towards a jla movie, that would build a huge buzz. Like they are trying to work with a batman superman flick, even that would be a good set up before jumping into a jla flick.

Actually the real problem is thinking like this.
The way to go about doing this is to have a LIVE ACTION television show. And make it a good one. Somewhere like a cross between X files and Star Trek. It CAN be done. I never understood the rational of taking a comic or a trade and trying to compress it into a 2 hour film. The costs of filming a movie like that are astronomical, and the return is not guaranteed. Whereas a show ( when well done) generates a HUGE fan base and sells itself with ads and ancillary marketing. Take WATCHMEN as an example. While I have high hopes for the finished piece, don't you think it would be better as a 12 episode miniseries on HBO? HBO is doing the right thing by adapting PREACHER in that very manner. I also think a SWAMP THING show would work very well., All dark and gothic. The Flash was good, but I think it got a bit too cutesy in the end. Kinda like SMALLVILLE.

Are you serious? I mean DC comics are looked on as 2nd fiddle because the characters are ridiculous (see Goodness, Granny). While Spider Man's unmasking and Captain Americas death made it mainstream and yes i know Superman's death also did but do you think anyone but hardcore comic fans know that Bane broke Batman's back or that Robin is now Nighthawk? But for sure people can tell you who Aunt May is or who Peter Parker is or for that matter that Bruce Banner is the Hulk
Marvel has had many more succesful mainstream projects: Mulitple Spider Man cartoons and the X Men Cartoon that lasted mulitple seasons
I bet every late 20's early 30's adult remember Spiderman and his Amazing Friends followed by The Incredible Hulk, but i would be hardpressed to name a good DC cartoon well other then wonder twin powers activate
The highly acclaimed and succesful Spiderman and X-man movies, with an avengers movie to come and what looks like a good Iron Man movie as well, in addition to succesful FF movies. And i believe there is a Dr. Strange movie in the queue as well as Iron Fist and a Wolverine Movie soon to come as well as a new Hulk movie
What has DC had other then the early Superman movies with Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor and the new Batman movies (which i am looking forward to as i liked the first one)
Not to mention marvel has put out better video games in comparison to the horrendous DC games (see Superman 64)
Please dont take this as me attacking you but i think you are a big DC fan and dont see clearly because of your kryptonite tinted glasses. But if you honestly take a step back and look you would see that Marvel has far surpassed DC in terms of mainstream popularity

I whole heartedly agree, and again let me re-iterate im really not trying to be an asshole here or a dick just stating my opinion.
I never really got back into DC since i was getting books in the 80's and early 90's. Like i have said i enjoy the x-books, thunderbolts and exiles
But my favorites are the Marvel Universe's those to me are the best i always like the charachter back stories more then anything else

Character back stories??? It doesn't make a difference. Every couple of years they start anew to keep characters fresh. Sinestro dies, he lives. Spiderman was married, no he wasn't. As long as you enjoy what you read good for you.
Now one thing that never changes in comics is Archie. What the heck to Veronica and Betty see in that loser!

prob with this is that there are tons of comics, like anything else , that are either good or bad. Now some books are overloaded with subplots that don't really play out well in the book itself or an adaption. I think some books can be movies or tv shows, the newer stuff coming out from indies, are more apt for movies because they don't have years and issues of stories to try and compress.
but we can all agree whatever the directors name is, i forget at the moment, who made daredevil and ghost rider, should NEVER make another comic movie again.

I'd like to give my opinion on the questions:
What was the worst Marvel movie? Either "Captain America" from 1990 or "The Fantastic Four" from 1994. The FF movie was never released anywhere, you can only find it on bootleg. The Human Torch is traditional animation over live-action backgrounds instead of CGI.
What was the worst DC movie? Toss up between "Catwoman" from 2004 and "Steel" from 1997.
What was the worst Marvel cartoon? What was the worst DC cartoon?
I don't think there's been any really bad cartoons from either company. Some cartoons don't hold up over time, while a sucky movie is still a sucky movie.
What was the worst Marvel tv series? Blade: The Series. It was cancelled after 10 episodes, I believe.
What was the worst DC tv series? Wonder Woman from 1974

and i have to say the best "graphic novels" and "series' come from dc (to me) but its really is cyclical, writers peak for different companies, as do movies.
2000's were dominated by marvel movies, but the 80's were dominated by dc.
but back on point, i think this movie will be great if they focus on this gale girl...and her thighs.

Then you're not thinking too hard. The BEST cartoons have been DC. Batman the Animated Series, Superman The Animated Series, Justice League Unlimited, Batman Beyond (with a great Return of the Joker DVD movie). BTAS and Justice League Unlimited blow away the most successful of the Spider-man and X-Men cartoons. In fact, it's still my opinion that the best adaptation of Batman was in BTAS.
The highly acclaimed and succesful Spiderman and X-man movies, with an avengers movie to come and what looks like a good Iron Man movie as well, in addition to succesful FF movies. I'm a bigger Marvel fan than I am a DC fan, but who are the top two most recognizable super heroes in pop culture (which is what the original statement was about)? It's Batman and Superman due to over 60 years of existence in television shows, movies, comics books, marketing, etc.
Yes, in recent years, Marvel has done a much better job with movies and with video games and other things, but I still think that Superman and Batman reign supreme as the top recognizable superheroes. And because of how recognizable they are, I think you can't say that DC plays second fiddle to Marvel. In the last 8 years, maybe, but not overall.
