Man oh man I loves me some clam chowder. I can't get enough of the stuff. It doesn't matter to me which kind it is. I love the Manhattan to death. However, if I had to choose (and this really pains me to admit as a Giants fan) I'd have to pick the New England. I love to load it up with Tabasco sauce and oyster crackers. Mmm Mmm Mmm The Creamy Goodness!
So where does everyone else come down on this age-old question?

Manhattan style is vegetable soup with clams thrown in it. It sucks high tit.
New England is the only clam chowder that should be allowed to call itself clam chowder. Manhattan style should have to pay royalties. Wannabe piece of shit soup.

stop the fight in the 1st round
New England destroys Manhattan in a chowder war
Manhattan is like a clam sauce that should go on pasta
but in all honesty Lobster Bisque > All

If I have a big bowl of lobster bisque, you're gonna want to send my toilet bowl a sympathy card.

I know it's clam chowder day but does anyone know of a national "clam" day. I loves me some cherry stones. I remember as a kid digging soft shell and hard shell clams in the harbor. We called soft shell's pissers and could dig up a bucket full in an hour. We never used them for chowder just ate them raw.

Ironically, Manhattan Clam Chowder was first made in Rhode Island:
Introduction of the Tomato - Tomato-based clam chowders came about with the new-found popularity of the tomato in the mid-1800s and the large population of Italians in New York and the Portuguese fishing communities of Rhode Island. By the 1930s, this tomato version had come to be called Manhattan clam chowder.
Speaking of Rhode Island, I could go for some clam cakes too!
