The buttons on my ipod just stopped working.

Does anyone know if there is a way to reset it or anything?

Which model is it?

I had an iPod Micro, and now have a Nano (3rd Gen w/video)

Both of those have a reset proceedure of:

1. Toggle the lock switch on and off twice.

2. Simutaneously press and hold the top of the circle (menu) and the center button for 10 seconds.

3. The screen goes blank, and then will come back on with an Apple logo, then the main menu will appear. Your iPod is reset.

If you attach it to your computer, open iTunes and click on the "Restore" button on your iPod's main menu window. This will essentially do the same thing. You can also use the "Check for Updates" button to make sure your iPod's software is up to date.

If the buttons continue malfunctioning or not work, hopefully it is under warranty and didn't get wet. Apple will fix it if so. If not, I recommend The Pod Drop (http://www.thepoddrop.com/).com. They fixed my Micro once, and had a very fair price for it. Well under the price of replacing it altogether.

Or just buy a new one. That's what Steve wants anyway, so pick up a shiny new model, with free shipping and laser engraving from The Apple Store (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?node=main&cid=OAS-US-KWG-AppleBrandName-US&aosid=p202&esvt=GOUSE100779433&esvadt=999999-0-54013-1&esvid=1996)
