I remember seeing a video when I was younger, probably around '82 or '83, by .38 Special in which all of the band members were dressed as different detective types and they were all looking for the same woman.

I came across the video for " Back Where You Belong " which appears to have the same type of premise but it is not the video I remember.

This one is more like a Hill Street Blues theme whereas the one I remember was more of a private eye kinda theme.

I thinkl one guy was Columbo-ish, another was like Charlie Chan, etc ....

I obvioulsy do not rememer the name of the song and I tried cross referencing the album that had " BWYB " to see if there was another song off that album that had a video but YouTube gave me nothing.

I do notice that at the end of this video it says To Be Continued which could mean the video I'm looking for was the " conclusion " but as I said I couldn't find anything.

Anybody have any idea what song and/or video it is that I'm trying to recall ?

Damn, I was looking for a while last night and couldn't find anything. I don't know if I should be impressed or disgusted that this is found on AOL, but was nowhere to be seen on the mighty YouTube.

Fezident you rock !

King you're not so bad yourself seeing as you put in some effort.

What's funny is in one of my searches I came across an AOL link but I thought it only had 2nd Chance, Back Where You Belong and one other video ( If You Were The One or something like that ).

All other videos where them playing the songs on stage.

Thanks again.

JimBeam,
You're quite welcome.
I'm glad my love of commerical, radio friendly, arena rock was able to pay such dividends.

This was like when Daniel-san was sanding the floor. I didn't even know I was in training!!!

Wax off.

As soon as I heard the song I remembered it.

I remember having a videotape back when this was out that contained all of the videos of the time ( taped off of non-MTV video shows like Friday Night Videos and a few others what were usually on during the day one of which was on WWOR-TV out of NJ which was Channel 9 in NY ) and the song from The Karate Kid was on it.

Was it Survivor that sang it ?

Maybe all of this came back to me last week when I was watching The Karate Kid III.

Ha, I was just talking about that with a friend of mine.
The kids always sounded like they had the phone in their mouth.

True that.
I've heard better sound quality at a 1970ies Burger King drive-thru.
